Since you are in South Vietnam, please visit Coochi tunnel where they have made a representation of the tunnel where Vietcong soldiers used to live (about 16000 soldiers lived for 18 years!) during Vietnam war. The tunnels are purposely so narrow that heavy built American soldiers could not enter the tunnel to attack Vietcong soldiers. It was thrilling to enter inside the tunnel by crawling on all fours all the way up to the exit. It was a very thrilling experience indeed.

Go to district 1, you will find indian restaurant in almost evey street. Kashmir, ashoka, ganesha and tandoor are some of the names with good food. Prices are way cheaper than any other country and food is really good. Worst case scenario, go to pizza hut.. you would get cheese pizza and vegetables fried rice..

Vietnam me vegetarian food is difficult to find. Plus English is not understood there. You can ask the Banh Mi vendors to give you Banh Mi without chicken (Ga). Banh Mi is a staple food for anyone there. Indian restaurants are way costly and not that tasty. You find corn and coconut water. Buy noodles from seven eleven.

Please don't spread misinformation by asking people not to visit Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Just because you could not find vegetarian options. I am an Indian living in Australia and my partner is Vietnamese. She comes from Saigon. There are many vegetarian options available in HCM city. However, you just need to know whereabouts. There are many Vietnamese and Thai shops where they serve good vegetarian options. Language could be a barrier. But in the city you will find people who have some understanding of the English language especially the shops , malls, restaurants , hotels and resorts. The younger generation of Vietnam is learning English except old schools. Hence, do not make a judgement about a country or city based on your own personal experience and advising people not to visit Vietnam. . Indeed a vegetarian person can survive easily not only in HCM city but other major cities like Hanoi too.
