Finally ruins that are actually climbable in Mexico! They just stopped allowing tourists to climb the Coba Ruins when we visited. Those beetles that you can buy and wear around is pretty wild! Looks like a beautiful city with lots to see, do, and EAT!

How was it overall on the tourist scene--crowded? a lot of travelers? if yes, American or elsewhere? and yes, beautiful sunset sky. Great video, again :)
@WITYTRAVELS2 жыл бұрын
There were definitely tourists there, but couldn't tell where they were from. It was never "crowded" expect when people needed shelter from the rain lol. Many people from the USA and Canda buy homes in Merida, and we also saw some Western European families. Thanks!

Which bus did you take to Mayapan? Where did you catch it? Was it easy getting back?
@WITYTRAVELS2 жыл бұрын
Hey Rookie! Go to "Terminal de Autobuses Noreste" and ask for the bus to Mayapan Archeological site (because it is also a city). It is just a local bus, so we don't know the line or bus number. It took about 2 and a half hours because the bus made many stops. To take a bus back, we just crossed the highway from the entrance. Stand on the side of the road facing toward Merida and flag down the first bus you see. Getting back was way easier than we feared.

The gorditas look so delish! On a related note... many times this summer Ian has heard me lament "Soy gorda" at very loud volume... it's in inside joke because of some Spanish tapes we used to play our sons when they were little. And because I have eaten SO much this summer!!!

This is a classic just one of my favorites starting off again with the breathtaking views on top of the scary but oh so beautiful it's like ascending from the heavens give it up for the majestic mayapan ruins its just a must see and do in this absolutely wonderful country of mexico, and the weather was perfect it looked like you could see for miles this is what nature is all about, in this city just the Architectural design of these buildings was just amazing to see and the huge green bench was just one of fantastic treats along the way in this mysterious town called merida they definitely know how to keep your attention and 20 dollars for a horse and carriage ride to view this ancient city sounds good to me and the lady selling the beetles now I don't know about that but what I do know is that you got to respect traditions and if she's good then so am I because the bible says theirs a place for everything and everything matters and everybody matters so we got to love them too to me this is called loving them from a distance, so witytravels from the amazing view's to the unique traditions and excellent foods you have given us a extraordinary experience in this absolutely incredible city of merida mexico !!!

It wasn't just scary being up there, but climbing up there too. They were not the safest steps! That green bench was super fun. Was a great deal on the carriage ride. The beetles are part of an interesting tradition that we had to find out more about. The food was sooo good!

Love this. Neither of us have been to these ruins, it’s on our bucket list. Can’t believe the little kid trying to sell you t shirts. So interesting to see.Woah, that beetle in a costume thing is weird!!! Of course the Mayan people make all those clothes, then import them from China 😂. That food looks great though! Daniel seemed like a nice chap. Only state in Mexico that has its own flag, that’s cool. Love learning new stuff from watching these videos. That sunset is incredible, wow!! Is that an ice cream bagel / doughnut??!!! Crazy filthy, but looks amazing!!! Those night views were amazing, really enjoyed that both 🍻
@WITYTRAVELS2 жыл бұрын
Thanks guys! There used to be more ruins that you could climb, but that number is reduced now. Beetle was definitely weird. Didn't expect to learn about the Yucatan flag while shopping. Ice cream may have been too cold for that dessert to work. It was a doughnut, which was better on its own lol. 🌅 🍻
