Our English language interview with Gjon's Tears - Switzerland's Eurovision 2020 singer. We spoke with him about his song "Répondez-moi" moments after SRF confirmed his participation at a press conference in Zurich.

As half swiss half mexican I understand what he means. Everyone in Switzerland always asked me where I am from as I don't look swiss and I had to answer Mexico. But in Mexico no one sees me as a Mexican either as I never lived there. I remember as a child I felt like I don't belong to none of those nations

And I understand you! I lived for maybe 1 year in China(and I was born there), but I don’t remember anything of it, I don’t know else than being adopted by Dutch people and living in the Netherlands and in the Sutch culture, but still people think I’m from China, but I don’t feel Chinese because I don’t know anything of the Chinese language and culture. A little late answer, but I wanted to share this 😂😂

Very personable young man. I usually don't like Ballads that much, but the way he sings "Repondez moi" is so beautiful and goes so deep, i love it. He is my favourite artist this year.

A beautiful song that is too good to be next to any other ballad in this contest this year. The competition is now at last interesting with this entry. The best song ever from Switzerland. I can imagine on the night that the staging will be so simple and bare, it will be placed between a couple of the silly songs or even at the end of the whole competition and the silence will be deafening from the crowds as it ends. It is almost an insult to even think it will win. It is better than that and although I am a great lover and fan of the competition in my opinion it is better than the competition and Eurovision should be privileged to even stage it.
