Sitting on a high ledge calmly selecting the optimal spell to send into the melee while your boys are fighting for their lives and screaming over comms is a whole mood :)

Rework spell casting in general. We should have 3 spell ranks, cantrip, rank 1, and rank 2. Cantrips are free and spammable, rank 1 is what all spell versions are now, rank 2 is buffed versions. So fireball does more dmg and leaves a little fire behind like how skellie mages fireball works. Give rank 1 and rank 2 independent charges, so 5 R1 fire balls, and 2-3 R2 ones. Adjust damages accordingly. Could be applied to warlocks/clerics also. Cantrip lesser heal is like 3 hp, but with a bunch of + magic heal it can get up to like 11. Rank 2 is base line 20, bur they can only use it twice. Or just make some spells not eligible for ranked versions to reduce the balancing nightmare that would likely cause and give it just to wizards since they are THE spell caster class

it’s fun because it’s powerful, meditating in a match to regain spells is what makes it a DPS class in the first place since you have to choose when to go all in, balancing it from being absurdly OP

Be kinda nice you had very slow passive regen on your spells. Sitting can still recharge your stuff at the normal rate but just to kinda help with running around and using lower tier spells

That judgement thing at 15:30 is exactly what happens to me every time I use it. I don't understand how I get instantly judgemented, yet the skill will just refuse to work most of the time on my end.

It is infuriating and it gets me killed more than anything else when playing cleric, if other classes had skills that had this function i wouldnt mind, but the fact that the devs refuse to fix this after over a year now goes to show how neglected cleric really is

@@Midwestemoisme did you miss the autocancel bug Jay got? Thats a common issue with the skill, not a feature, its not supposed to do that and needs to be FIXED.

@Midwestemoisme did you even watch the clip the guy timestamped? You can clearly see him clapping his hands over and over again, that's not walking out of range because it would just end and go on CD. This has been an issue with judgement forever.

Would be cool if they made judgement into like a cross that blasts out of your shield, so it’s a skill shot and can be used when in defense and while moving. Just make it really short range. Could also add a perk rework for, maybe holy aura? Make it where judgment turns into a small knock back too, instead of just a slow, so clerics can peel for themselves a little in a skirmishing in 2s and 3s. Similar to the fighters shield bash, which no one uses. Just take the small channel out of the skill completely.

Everyone has the same amount of stats just difference in the distribution ur saying wiz should have high resourcefulness without having the stat that would be not balanced at all it would be balanced if they took a needed stat and give resourcefulness and im not asking for this it would just be a nerf to the class play ranger or rogue if u want to set campfires fast..

⁠@@brennanorr2agility also determines the speed of campfires and that is actually a good stat unlike resourcefulness. They could take some dex maybe even resourcefulness to put into agility.

i played solo wizard up until a month ago when i made a cleric to play w/ my friend. completely different game. to go from meditating every 5 minutes after exhausting all your offense over and over to just walking around booping things on the head.... Wiz is a different breed, folks. Trust me.

Hey Jay, im new to the game, but after 5 days of nonstop playing wizard alone... i feel like quitting, i haven't done anything but clear the first floor and run, i tried the second floor once and i was instantly with my back against the wall, too many mobs too storng in every direction to do anything.... i feel like i have literally 0 progress and i feel like im just wasting my time

You are wasting your time. Any Jay videos you’ve watched of wizard have been far in the past when it was in a much better state. Wizard is the hardest class in the game by a long shot. Go play warlock, it’s better wizard with life steal on everything

wiz is just in a weird place right now, unfortunately. They keep nerfing it to the ground when pve was already slow it just keeps getting slower. Play with a team and it will make the process way easier as you don't need to be the one clearing pve as much. It is also important to note that Goblin Caves is the only map designed for solos. The mob density and hp per room are too high on other maps so it's gonna take more time to clear.

Please just give us Cantrips and have them not suck, it is absolutely insane that a dedicated caster class, should have to melee much more than a hybrid caster-melee class. No self respecting Wizard in DnD would go up to goblins and smack them.

Limited spell charges is just a quick answer to the missing mana issue. Imo druid forms, wizard spells and warlocks dark magic should all cost mana. Which would have a passive regen that could be boosted by pots/perks/gear. And then resting would regen the most mana

@@maxxling6783 its the usual rpg way of managing spells etc. I think they just didn't have time to set up a whole mana system when they only had wizard. So the band-aid solution was give them 'charges' of spells instead, accomplishing nearly the same thing, but not quite

The "charge" spell count is derived from DnD. That's why wizard and cleric have this system. The problem is that this game is way different from DnD, thus the solo Wiz is painfull.

@@UnimportantAccya spell charges is a DnD thing which this game is heavily inspired by. It just doesn’t work in context for this class cause it’s literally THE spell caster class. That’s what people want “cantrips” which are weaker, spammable skills in DnD that don’t require spell slots. Really they should give wizards spell versions, cantrip, spell rank 1, and spell rank 2. Cantrip does little dmg, good for mobs or pressure, rank 1 is what we currently have, rank 2 is buffed versions that have their spell slots reduced by like 1/3. That way you can nuke, tickle, or play like now.

Honestly add a perk that allows you to regen your spells at 1/5th the rate of sitting down passively and wizard is fixed. So disgusting to have to constantly campfire just to play your class.

Use your spells for PVE, the 15 second rest after like 2 rooms is easily made up by the speed spells can kill mobs

I don’t play the class but maybe give them something to make their spells better. It could be a utility spell, something like a buff on the ground, “arcane circle” or whatever you want to call it. Increase all spell casting time by 15% for anyone in the circle, it lasts 10s, has like 5 charges, and is pretty generous in size. Maybe the size of a sanctuary/mending grove, so you can still be bullied out of it, but while in it you’re slanging spells like crazy, every spell gets 1 free cast while in it, then it starts taking charges again, free cast is like 10% stronger, adjust accordingly to make it not be absolutely busted. Just an idea. Or a skill that is a single activated buff that does that same thing.

Wizard Perk: - Spells deal 5 times the damage against non elite monsters (demons, bosses, ...) - One of your spells does not consume charges but has a (X) seconds cooldown - Killing a monster regains spell slots depending on the monsters strength

i wonder if a spell rework of cooldowns could be implemented without being too powerful, each spell has a set amount that can only be used a certain time before a timer, amoount and damage could be adjusted to compensate

That's it's niche lol Your team should be clearing pve. Wizard, like most of the game, was not designed with solos in mind. This is a team game with solos as an afterthought.

@dikwaibdish2924 na they're working on proper matchmaking so that they can still develop a team game. Been their vision from the start. I'm saying this as someone who plays like 95% solos with a couple thousand hours sunk into the game.
