You're waiting to get to issue #60 for Jim's amnesia letter, and I'm patiently-anxiously waiting for you to get to issue #62 'cause I have a piece of artwork (of Sandman) on The Drawing Board-Fan Art page as a 1st runner-up!

The oversized Omnibus is all of it. And Pat’s art is exquisite at that larger print size!
@newspooiechannel2 жыл бұрын
The omnibus was re-printed last year. Includes Busiek's Amazing Fantasy 16-18 as well. Speaking of which, I recently brought a bunch of comics into work that I now own in collected editions or got in random grab bags and started handing them out and placing them all over to try and proselytize new readers. My supervisor grabbed some and brought them home for her youngest. He's never had actual comic issues, just some YA (and younger) graphic novels. She says he's been reading them each night. Seems to love Spider-Man, Thor and Green Lantern thanks to the movies and getting more and more into the comics. I figure, why not give him some of my 90s stash of Untold Tales now that I own the omnibus?

Man I cried a bit when Jim just flipped past that 4 page Marvel Metal ad. I want a whole video breaking down the Marvel Metal series haha.

I picked up a few of Tomine's xeroxed & stapled Optic Nerves in 93 (I think?) that he'd placed in a local shop. I really liked what he was doing and sent him a check for the rest of the issues. I was so happy to see him land a title for Drawn & Quarterly in 95. In 2021 it was announced that his "Killing and Dying" is being adapted to film.

Give a second look at Paul Pelletier's work guys.... his artwork is amazing. His run on Guardians of the Galaxy with Abnett and Lanning is beautiful. His designs are the inspiration for all the Guardians films.

It’s funny because I don’t read comics anymore but I have all my old comics in a box in my basement, but not my issues of Wizard. I was going through my collection and it looks like I stopped buying stuff in 1997, but I don’t really have any recollection of these past couple Wizard issues from 1995. So I’m like Jim, I can’t figure out if I was still reading Wizard at this time 😁

I have to tell you, that months Palmer’s Pick’s messed me up. I panicked and was never right again. But I had a lot going on in my head, that was the real reason of course. But the article brought the real! And you guys are right. You had to forgo a “normal” life and chain yourself to the art table. I didn’t have that in me.

Are we headed for another bust, without the boom? DC Comics is exclusively distributed by Lunar Comics distribution. Lunar has also agreed to distribute 2 or 3 small publishers on a non-exclusive basis. Marvel has partnered with Penguin Random House; Diamond still handles Marvel but gets them from P/RH and thus can't match their discount to retailers. If Diamond folds, all the independent publishers will be hoping their numbers are sufficient for the 2 remaining distributors to feel it's worth their while to handle their books.

I was curious so I just Just read Punx for a 90s valiant comic it was really good they make fun of understanding comics and other tropes of 90s comics while still having a kinda cyberpunk storyline underneath and Giffens art is awesome not quite Trencher but really nice to look at.
