Clip I put together of me assembling my (new) High Performance Computer. I have been building HPCs since I was 11. This one, is by far the most powerful. It is now about 7 months old at the time of this post. No serious issues encountered other than what I expected from the bleeding edge: having lived there for 20 years.
I build my machines to last 10 or more years, so before you get jealous... think about how this machine will run in A Decade. My prior rig until 2023 was an FX-8350 paired with a 1kW PSU and a R9 290X, with 16GB of DDR3 at 1866MHz. In 2013: it was a monster for the time but the only real upgrade path was to a FX 9590, adding another 16GB of ram and another R9 290X. Life got in the way, or else I would probably only being pushed off of that iron this year, 2024.
There's loads upon loads of videos on YT of people tossing together a computer, I made this as a counter to all the nonsense saying this hobby is easy or accessible. It is not, to most people. Especially when you're building systems with top-of-the-line processors, you will run into obscure issues that need to be solved by you and you alone or else your machine may simply be too unstable to daily, for whatever purpose. This was the case with Raptor Lake. Getting this platform stable at it's cutting edge has been very difficult, but entirely worth it.
The whole build from unpacking to booting to desktop took approximately 13 hours but I got the majority of the assembly on camera, here. The music is not my composition, although I did remix it heavily. (Check out Seth Haley, Sarin Sunday, Com Truise, Airliner.)
(Also, Holly molly was that FX rig a smoker. I mean that literally. The thing would heat up my entire apartment during serious gaming binges.)

GPU: (Pre-ban) Zotac RTX 4090 Trinity OC
SC: Creative Labs Sound Blaster AE-9
Mic: Rode Procaster: on a Rode PSA1 boom with a PS1 Shock Mount
