Wizard NR100 vs Roka 4x100 Frames - Premium or Budget?

I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a pair of Wizard NR100 frames and decides to compare them with a pair of their much cheaper equivalent, the Roka 4x100 frames. The Wizard Skating frames are £350. The Roka frames are £150. But how much difference is there between the two frames? I decided to take a look at the dimensions and the weight and offer my albeit very naive impression.

Great infos once again, thanxs ! But this is the old gen Wizard (extruded aluminum as the Roka). Hope you'll do a comparison with the new gen Wizard frames (Cnc'd from solid block aluminum make them way stiffer with higher pitch sound)

Dragon are far cheaper feeling. Mine rattle with the wheels ever so move side to side. It’s not a bad frame but it’s to know why they are cheaper.

@@meangenes3295 no , they still do the trick if you just want to get into it or play around. Just keep in mind if you want wizards after you are now spending more like I will end up doing.

My question is, where are the plastic wizard frames? Incredibly surprising that neither an indy company or one of the large brands has come out with some injected molded glass filled nylon 80/90/100mm rockered UFS framesets. While the setup costs of injection molding are high, it still seems like a no-brainer to me. People would gladly accept the loss in stiffness for the smoother ride quality and incredibly decreased retail cost. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you plan on wizarding with plastic frames you should stick with aggs tbh. Wizard skating is a discipline that DEMANDS responsiveness and plastic frames just wouldn't cut it sadly. There are also other engineering difficulties that come into play when making a plastic big wheel frames because of the leverage against the skate itself, leaving your frames prone to breakages. Kizer makes some solid 90mm frames for cheap, compass has their 80mm frames, but if you're looking for wizard specific frames, plastic just doesn't work very well unless you're willing to use a lot of it.

Please do a blind testing... give some experienced skaters one of the frames beneath their feet, but don't tell them which. Than they have to guess which is which
@wheelsceneblading

How would that work? As soon as they put them on they’ll look down and be able to tell even if you taped them up they’d be able to tell me the different outlines.

@@wheelsceneblading if you just use these two it might work if you tape them up well... and you could also tell them to not look to closely 😅🤷‍♂️

Yo do u know if you can mount Rokas on Roces 5th elements?
@wheelsceneblading
@wheelsceneblading 2 жыл бұрын
You can. They are both UFS compatible. I would say Roces Fifth Elements are not the most supportive skate though. They cuffs are quite soft and flimsy, which isn’t idea for larger wheels.

@@wheelsceneblading thought the wheels were the same, when i looked at the them x braindead & wizard collab. Thought that the wheels on their 909s are the same ones used for the braindead x wizard 5 wheel frames
@wheelsceneblading

@@Kaito2.2 The wheels on the Braindead x Wizard frames are 80mm wheels, not aggressive wheels. In that video JK Park uses a combination of the Brain Dead Wheel and a blank white wheel, which could be UC or FR Street Invader. Also, the Them boot is significantly stiffer than the Roces Fifth Element boot. It offers a lot more support.
