As a myth main, I totally agree about the minion thing. I think I never used minions past Krokotopia ever as they become really bad later on and just overall useless. Their low health and damage just make them a waste of a turn. Maybe a way to fix them is by making them controllable by the wizard who summoned them, Pirate101 style. You can view their deck and select or discard spells. These would make them powerful and useful in later worlds, by being able to break shields or buff. This could be said for any school with a minion. However, I think that would make them a bit broken in PvP (correct me if I'm wrong), so it could be a PvE only feature.

As a myth wizard, I would agree with the minion issue in regards to the main minions. The thing that makes myth amazing when using minions is by using the one's you get with monstrology (sorry if I spelled it wrong). All minions cost 2 pips no matter how strong they get. The perm minion spells you get are useless though, I agree

I ain't disagreeing. But when i was a kid and braindead. Ice allowed me allot of breathing room. The high health and good resist just let me breath enough to do what i wanted. Though - baseline efficiency (time wise - ice is just a bit better than dead. Cause scarecrow is the first and really only all hit spell till lvl 100, unless you have amber for deernight)

with death as my main, i will be honest that i love just how versatile the school is because you can hold your own in basically every aspect. offensive can be fairly strong and you can inflict bunches of damage, in support you can place traps that’ll help your teammates, or heck you can put a decent heal on your team or yourself as well. in my opinion, death is very good for someone who wants to be able to hold their own when soloing, and be able to help those around you too. though i do think that setting up an attack to do damage can take a bit- i love it

I feel like even with the nerfs, ice is still really good for soloing. With the high health and as long as you don’t have bazaar gear, you can get several blades and traps on before you even get close to dying to any boss (except the cheating final bosses). It sure takes long and is annoying, but definetly more secure to solo than any other school except death

Honestly, I think life is worse then ice, because life’s main draw is healing. Healing uses up pips, which is inefficient in soloing. On my ice wizard, I never die and almost never use heals. If life and ice have similar stats, then life’s heals become more obsolete, unless you are on a team. No hate to life wizards though. I’m sure they are a godsend to low-health hitters in teams.

I solo just fine on my life wizard, usually don't even run heals unless I'm doing something especially challenging but when I do that its usually not solo and I slide over to support. Once you get forest lord its pretty easy, though that is probably the toughest one to get imo for the lvl 48 AOE's.

I love ice, and I've found it very easy to quest with. It usually take 3 rounds in regular mob fights, and 6 in boss fights for me. I've soloed all the way up to Azteca so far (except for Olympus and Atlantea), and I'm continuing to solo. Of course some fights aren't easy, but it just takes some time. I've only died twice btw, once in mirror lake, and once in Mount Olympus.

As a storm mage, whenever I'm in a bossfight I can't just damage through, I summon an elemental. They offer taunt, elemental and spirit shields, healing and damagers. It's pretty sweet.

As an ice main, a lot of the points he made are very fair. Solo questing takes a long time, but you don’t die very often. It is very rare for me to be below half health even in boss fights. My main role in a group boss fight is to not die during a massive aoe so everyone who did die has a chance to flee, heal, and recall so we don’t have to start the fight over. It isn’t very glamorous, but it can be invaluable.

I think that death is a better school than fire actually. Death doesn't have as much damage as fire however it definitely has enough damage as is, which is all you need for PvE. It also has a great deal of versatility especially when compared to fire. It has better defense and can also fully heal it's self.

Um I don't wanna be rude. But death was my second wizard. And im on fire now. No -just no. Death only has scarecrow as a all hit spell till 100 - deernight requires amber. Personally I find balance a decent school while they don't have prisms they don't need it as they typically have spells that deal damage storm ice or fire damage, so their prism is literally built into a portion of their damage output. That way you don't need to waste a turn setting up a prism.

would like to point something out, with that being that FL is now obtained at level 48 ive basically quested on life, whos in khrysalis, but it must say that questing hasnt been that bad, especially once i got FL. i rarely ever die, and when i do, its most likely because its a cheating boss. we got good survivability which helps with surviving (wow! really? i wouldnt have guessed!)

I've been trying to tell people that FL is broken once you get it. Two blades with FL will kill almost every enemy I've faced so far. I usually don't even have heals in my deck unless its a rather difficult boss or dungeon, and I usually don't solo those. Life is my favorite out of all of my wizards

I think Death is the best school for solo questing. You put fire ahead because of the damage but death actually does a fair bit of damage, especially if you got a decent pet, combining that with the ability to heal a lot for free from your attacks and how you get feint for free. That healing ability is a major plus for it as because fire only has a small heal and then a slightly improved version in their school. If they want to heal, they have to use pixie or another life spell and if you dont have a mastery, that is going to impact your questing a lot. You'll have to go around and keep collecting wisps or going to buy potions whereas if you're death and you're in a dungeon you'll heal anything your attacker did while killing them and then you can move on immediately. Fire has a little bit more firepower in terms of damage on spells but with the right gear, death can certainly make up for it and kill just as easy. I will give fire one thing over death though and that is that it has a 4 pip aoe and death doesn't(until you craft/get from drop or pack deer knight or headless horseman). But you'll have to blade and maybe trap and then you'll have enough pips anyways. Overall, death is a much better school for solo questing than fire. However, the best school for anyone wanting to play is the school with the spells they think are the coolest and the type of way they want to play. Every school, if you play smart and have good gear, can be really powerful and strong.

I agree with your position on Ice. Most times I have to buy a level 50 life henchman to really get buy in a pinch. For Ice wizards moon spell and sun spells will be your saving grace if you want to do increased damage in battle. I mostly have no single hit cards for when I'm questing, always global.

What's worse regarding ice isn't lack of damage potential rather the fact they fail short in every role there is - not enough damage to be put in hitter category which is occupied by mostly storm and fire and also myth after latest update , not much utility to be a support which is held by death and balance , and can't heal like life, and tanking is now been done with jade gear by either death or life so ice isn't wanted in any way. Soloing is done best by death so even there ice fails short, so honestly ice only has pvp left , in which their max health and resist with weaver as a jackpot card shines bright

I know I’m soooo late to this but I’m just seeing it. I was always a life wizard, and I’d argue it should have a better position. I was a solo player 85+% of the time and had no problem. Slow gameplay for sure, but it had a basic process to battles. Blading up and healing while waiting to do a killing blow. Both boss battles and regular minions were no problem due to the basic process of healing and stacking blades. The school gets 1000% better once forest lord is gotten… and in the max levels the multi hit lamassu or single hit hungry caterpillar. I will give you lamassu was a way better hit before debuff for sure! I also had such a good time in major dungeons being the team healer and protector while having some fun hitting once in a while. All around I think life school as it was originally was under appreciated. Also I never had a secondary school because I didn’t find it necessary. Thanks for reading lol 😁

I haven't played in around 7 years but I mained balance and everything felt so easy... Though other schools are perhaps better, but the satisfaction of max power pip judgement fully buffed can never be rivaled.

Also yes, normally I’m all about stuff like fire or edge like death, but for some reason I’m super into my ice wizard, and honestly all that hp seriously is super useful when dealing with many things in the game, and also being able to give defense to myself and my allies, I was super shocked to hear ice as last.

Fire and Death each have their own thing that sets them apart. Fire has its DOT, and very powerful single target hits, while Death has the debuff ability of balance along with being able to steal health with Lulu. Both are great for solo’ing and it’s really hard to name a true #1 out of those 2 schools IMO.

Tbh, ice is a btch to kill but they can pretty much solo all the worlds. Fire is always favored by KI and takes no skill whatsoever to use. Storm is always somehow doing less damage than Fire yet storm is supposed to be the school for damage output? Gotta love KI

As a person who has maxed out all schools, here is my PvE ranking list in my opinion: 1. Death (hitting to heal is OP especially since a good amount of moves are AOE) 2. Ice (resist builds are crazy if done right, just find the sweet spot in regards to resist and damage) 3. Storm (glass canon, amazing damage but annoying in solo fights against quite a bit of bosses since storm wizards have low health. Many tower shield TCs were used lol) 4. Balance (really fun since you can use every school through your moves, even better if you have mastery amulets and learn perm spells from other schools) 5. Fire (similar to storm sorta, just a bit more health, a bit less damage and a little more accuracy in comparison. revolves around DOT) 6. Life (obviously good at healing, making a heal support is kinda fun to help others but honestly boring through the whole game) 7. Myth (got a bit better after some needed updates and additions to spells. however, still not that great. its got low health like fire school but less damage than fire school. its got a bit more resist and accuracy though. the minions arent that great even though myth revolves around them it seemed like. Struggled through the games with it the most, praying they buff/improve/add stuff to make it better. i love the school and the looks of everything about it, but its just lacking)

As an ice and death main, I can confirm the placement of both. I would argue that death is the best but I've never used fire before. One of the biggest complaints I have with ice is how much later you get your blade compared to other schools.

Nope it’s not a glitch, it’s meant to be like that with the new update. They intentionally put Forest Lord as a level 48 spell, and buffed it in damage. Not sure why this wiz tuber didn’t mention that change.

Honestly Balance is very weak in the 2nd arc, lack of blade stacking really hurts and you end up having to paper cut your way through mobs sometimes with power nova's ( with new update) and Sandstorms. This is particularly bad from Zafaria till you train sharpen blade in Azteca although it doesn't really resolve till you get nested fury at Lvl 108. Given that the second arc contains the most quests and takes the most time anyway means that balance isn't a very good questing school on the whole ( very good in arc 1 bc no balance shields, arc 3 you get nested and can use elemental blades with it.)

As a death main, I respectfully disagree. The ability to wreck anything and go from no health to max health in one attack provided the right set up is worth more than fire's offense. As far as PVE, death wiz's are among the hardest to kill if they're played right.

I remember someone was fully buffed and used call of katholo( sorry if I spelled it wrong) and they had 8000x4. Ah I was extremely butt-hurt by that. But as a Fire wizard I feel much more violent and offensive because of the heavy hits, especially with enough buffs or sometimes none. The tops schools will always be Fire Death and Storm, no matter the order because let’s face it; we’re the pillar men of wizard 101 (yep it IS a Jojo reference). When I’m teamed up with death and Storm, yo....it’s a beautiful feeling.

Controversial but I literally hate solo questing any other school than Life. If you have that fighting style, and your willing to seriously grind up until like level 60, you’ll eventually find that your able to keep up with the rest of the schools for the most part and you’ll feel like you actually earned your spot.

As a storm, solo questing in Arc 2 and Arc 1 worlds was literally torture. I didnt have enough health or resist to live enough rounds to attack many of the times, Myth should be above Storm for solo questing, if you're a storm but questing with someone else then it's great to be a storm, otherwise, the struggle is real and my first wiz was a storm so I would know

Myth is super underrated, I have a high level myth and i never see anyone else as a myth. Now that they finally made Orthrus an aoe spell (MUCH NEEDED) myth is perfect for solo questing, it's like fire but just a bit weaker(damage wise) if you will, doesn't make it worse at all since you also get bit more health and defensive stats as a myth so pretty balanced like he said

Balance really does suffer when it comes to things resisting you without an immediate workaround, but picking up life as a secondary is some of the most fun I've had. Popping Satyr when you need the heals or Centaur after throwing out all of the universals always feels good. And Judgement is just a pretty great spell, change my mind.

Ok, but here is something to consider about the school of ice. Have you done Winterbane Hall? If you don't plan to purchase membership immediately, ice is the best school to go for diversity of spells that you can get. Also for life, the only reason I have a life wizard is so I can have better health and heal others (not the 400 for self-only spell anymore). But I loaded it up with storm training point spells and storm pet boosts. Basically, the perfect combination. It is like a second storm wizard who can heal others.

Storm is actually still the best with hitting. The w101 website stated that the dpp for storm is still higher than fire. And balance is the third worst hitting school , and i hear after blades are applied, balance is the worst hitter because the balance blade is weaker. ( im too lazy to do math to verify that)

I believe you have to max level all class wizards to compare them or at least make all your wizards the same level to compare them. Ice may be very weak in the attacking point of view, but it has very high hp and can last much longer in battles than the other classes, so it still can beat bosses but at not so fast pace as other op wizards.

The only issue I have with this list is that death isn't number 1.I know fire is really OP in PvE but the reason I think death should be number 1 is that it's literally impossible to die in PvE because of drains. Yeah fire is pretty strong, but it's easier to get killed as a fire. If it was possible, i'd tie both at number 1 and just have this be a 6 number list instead of 7 lol. Also, when you said myth isn't a main hitter school, that was also another thing I disagreed with because at max, myth can get up to 160-165 damage with 100% crit which is really good if you ask me. Before this update, myth wasn't really a good hitter school but now it can finally be coined as the "3rd best hitting school." I guess the minion thing does kinda bring it down though I guess

as a level 80 fire wizard can confirm questing was a breeze some fire bosses can be extremely rough due to dots ruining prisms, but the class is so mind boglingly boring, enchant meteor 1-2 casts will kill any normal enemy efreet and drag will kill most bosses and minions
