yes its like 6 hours straight of farming to unlock the badge since you need 50 runs and each run is like 7-8 if you do it efficiently enough.

I feel like school specific drops need to be a thing. There’s too many items in these packs and your chances of pulling gear for your school is low. Rng might be a issue here as well,but I can deal with that. It took me over 100+ pack openings to pull my scrappy gryphon for my balance wizard last weekend. I got a myth and two deaths to drop before I got the pet I wanted.

nah fr, they did school specific drops in early dungeons like darkmoor and tartarus, would be amazing to do it now or at least an easier access to the recipe vendor.

If you have more than one max try opening packs on the other characters I’ve notice the school you’re on you get less drops of that school but as soon as you’re on another school you get that it easy

I farmed the gauntlet at least 20+ times with a group, most of the time only two of us got drops, and none of us ever got any drops for our school.

It is pay to win because you are either spending a lot of money on the packs, or time to get the gear from farming. They know what they are doing.

That's pay for convenience not to win since you could solely farm for it, but otherwise they do need to make drops more lenient off the gauntlet

It’s better in almost every stat with the exception of losing a little bit of pierce or accuracy and shadow pip chance is basically irrelevant now since shadow spells don’t do as much as before. The other difference is the combination of pins is different but for the most part, the gear is an upgrade.

@@uiucchemistry2664 First off, not many people are really gonna need this gear, it's not better than nullity/aeon for pve and again, the gauntlet exists and can be done for free -> like I said: pay for convenience (like novus explorer), not (exactly) to win. I agree it's one of the best pvp gear (you should also wait to see how shadow gauge plays out first before your claim [check sauce's latest stream VOD]). Otherwise, yes I did see the stats on the gear. TLDR: not p2w for pve and for pvp, you can still grind (which you should do for pvp) so it's borderline p2w and f2p aka pay for convenience.

That isn't pay to win. That is how the game is meant to be played; by grinding. If you hate grinding, then you can pay. But if the gear is obtainable with grinding, it is not pay to win.

@@AstaDevilUnion Honestly, hope they fix the badge crafting situation with the gauntlet cause although it isn't p2w it sure is annoying, yet at the same time shadow gauge being changed has affected stuff a lot it seems so it doesn't necessarily seem like mire gear is undisputed top

The pack is definitely the return of p2w since that gear is basically the best currently as shad chance matters little now & after the nerf to shadow spells in general. The pack shouldn’t waste slots on useless things like seeds, furniture/housing items, pets, pet snacks, reagents, tc, etc. If it’s going to involve 7 pieces of gear (hat, robe, boots, wand, ring, athame, amulet) plus the mount, then that’s all that should drop every time from the pack since the reward pool is dilute AF which is a sneaky crooked way for KI to encourage players to spend more crowns to get gear. You could argue that it drops reagents to craft the gauntlet but even the reagents needed are barely given with those stingy drops from the pack requiring 10’s of thousands of crowns to craft it not to mention the time investment of running the gauntlet an absurd amount of times if you’re lucky enough to craft it to either get the gear by luck/chance or finally craft it after 50 attempts. It’s absurd and this issue needs to be called out for what it is and be fixed.

In my opinion packs should consider rare cosmetics with good animations, mounts instead game stuff such as gear that is needed in the game. If they don’t draw a line between optional things and necessary things then yes the game is Pay-To-Win. And this could continue on and on, because accepting this will encourage them to do this for future updates

The gear chance is 1/56 from the gauntlet. You basically have a less than 2% chance of getting a specific piece of gear that you want.

I feel the the gauntlet would’ve been better if they split up the drops between two bosses. Like one boss would drop, hat, robe, boots, and wands, and another would drop rings, athames, and amulets. Similar to how the Graveyard is set up. I’d also like to add, if you want to craft things from this pack, THE HAT, ROBE AND BOOTS CANNOT BE CRAFTED! It’s only the ring, athames, amulets and the decks.

I think 25 is cool for secondary gear (athames, rings etc.) but 50 to craft hat boots, robes is fine imo. Either farm it OR pitty craft it after X runs.

They became more agressive with monetization lately, the justification for ,, it can be earned in game,, doesn’t work, if you spend weeks of grind for piece of gear, because the chance you get exactly what you want is so low and the moment someone can skip this with a wallet completely destroys whole purpose of achieving something... It’s just P2W with extra steps, people leaving other MMOs the moment they introduce something like this or heavily boycott the game... As EU player waiting for updates, while i think content we get is really good, the gear grind and monetization becomes worse each year, slowly pushing new/returning players away and desperately hold active players ingame

160 Wands, Athames, and Rings should have 1 Sword Pin apiece to replace the secondary school stats so we have true choice in secondary school

I mean... yeah... the entire crown shop is pay to win. I have been advocating since day one that the Crown Shop sells cosmetic-only items as the P2W and P2C is one of the main reasons I barely play the game anymore. Ill argue my point just for fun at this point but: By definition (at least my personal definition, I know a lot of people go by this to but I have to clarify this) pay to win is when you can use money to buy any sort of in game advantage, therefore any stat-based gear in the crown shop, any crafting materials, and any item that gives any sort of PVE or PVP gameplay advantage is pay to win due to how things like crafted gear works and all of that jazz, since you can buy reagents and gear (including Novus gear) you can theoretically get better stats than the average player way way faster than any normal player typically would. This means you get the PVP gear you need faster, and get to PVP earlier, giving you more experience before a non P2W user can start PVPing effectively, therefore you have an unfair advantage against them since you effectively bought your way into a PVP setting earlier than they could earn their way into it (assuming you want to use efficient gear and actually win any of your fights). By my defintion, this means that not only is the Crown Shop P2W, but so are bundles, second chance chests, the entire pet, gardening, and crafting systems are also P2W as well, and its all because of the Crown Shop in its current state. Its so bad that it literally touches and infects every single aspect of the game. Even mounts in their current state are P2W (obviously the stat ones are but thats not what I am talking about) because they let you finish the game faster, therefore get into PVP earlier, same issue. (Obviously this is to a MUCH lower scale, so its honestly fine) If you think my definition of P2W is too harsh.... well thats exactly what KI, and most modern day MMO companies want you to think, almost none of this used to exist in earlier MMOS and its why most of them have lost their charm these days.

Of course its pay to win. Saying its not is stupid. Just because there is a way to get something for free does not mean its not p2w. When you have to know someone who used a ton of money to farm it its already sketchy. The fact it can take you MONTHS to get only a few good drops makes it unuseable. Due to the fact by the tiem you manage to get something, if you even will. The chance there wont be better pack gear or even normal gear is almost 0. Its p2w to the fullist and the "f2p" way is just a way for them to say "its not p2w" but it clearly is. Other games dont even dare do these things its just something wiz does to milk more money.😊

I think that the best way to use the gear is a bit of mix and match. You may get great stats already with 2 pieces and not need all of them. Honestly, are we really consistently winning or losing matches in pvp for 1-2% more or less resist or damage or pierce or is that just a convenient excuse?

The problem is not the shadow pip chance but rather the fact that accepting this is like accepting their pay-to-win mentality, which they will do more things like that in future. In fact, imagine playing a game with membership that has features like that. Final Fantasy 14 which is the best MMO has a membership and their item-shop include only cosmetics and level boosters and such. High end gear is farmable 100% chance to get a piece if you beat that hard content.

I’d still recommend on farming for the aeon wand athame and ring, otherwise your losing out on 10+ damage and quite a bit of pierce

I remember when water works dropped and we had to run it 30-50 times to get the gear for each school and then again when Tartarus dropped i remember doing that 500 times to try to get the athame that gave 2 pierce and never getting it. Hades was a monster and I absolutely hate doing that now considering it was about 45 minutes or more for each run and having to do it so many times, I will not help people get through it now because of how negative it was. Darkmoore was not as bad but the same. AS for it being Pay to win if you have money to buy packs you save yourself the headache of having to run the gauntlet if you dont you run the gauntlet, if it was pay to win you wouldn't have a gauntlet to get the same gear. You would only be able to get it from packs.

Is this gear a better defense set than eternal? I rock eternal gear on my ice which is awesome for everything but pierce. Is it worth giving up shadow chance for the stats the night mire gear offers? I also dual school death mostly so I can use ship of fools, will I get enough accuracy switching from eternal to night mire?

It really does surprise me that people are surprised by all of this. They make the grind so insufferable to mentally manipulate you into spending a ton of money instead. It makes it so much worse that this is a game for children it is absolutely unforgivable but they will continue to do it because they make a ton of money off of it.

Eh this game has always been pay to win. The main issue i have is that Ice can casually have 88% resist to 4 schools and not sacrifice damage whatsoever. Ice should be no where near 150% damage with that much resist

50 runs is fine for f2p players, it's about 20 hours of farming , for owners of gauntlet that number should be closer to 20. They way those who buy it don't feel shafted, and encourage buying gauntlet directly
