I haven't seen a comment referring to the other schools here (I main storm), so I'll leave this here. The setup in this video works pretty well for all schools, with varying degrees of stats. I've found some interesting things around the storm setup with the new gear, so I've decided to leave my findings here. Storm can manage 190 damage and still be within the optimal crit range. What's changed from the standard setup is replacing the ring with the Leads Insulating Ring, which provides 16 damage for storm and passable critical. Now to compensate for the damage loss on the set bonus, you can use dragoon amulet for damage (as another commenter has also noticed) to retain the 5% dragoon set bonus, so the damage increases overall at the expense of 30ish crit rating and some pierce. Additionally, you can replace the wand with the new crafted wand, for 23 damage and about 80ish crit. Finally, a quint damage pet with selfish would provide 33 damage, and utilizing the primeval hoard pack pet with the mount grants 6 more damage. Keep in mind, this set has low pierce. However, power pip and accuracy are all maxed out with jewels and your health would be well above the 6k threshold, which for storm is a luxury. I'm not sure if this set can be improved, but as far as I'm concerned this is about as good as it gets. Note: you can also use the uber sciencer athame for 1% more damage, but as this video has explored you lose too much power pip to be at 100. You're missing out on quite a large chunk of damage by running the dragoon ring instead of the new executive ones. You can run dragoon amulet instead to keep the dragoon bonus without missing out on the damage from that as well.

I'm sure you already know this but if you use Dragoon amulet and the new Karamelle dropped rings you can get 181 damage I believe on myth. The new rings are hard to get stats for but I think the myth one gives 18 damage and if you use Dragoon amulet you keep set bonus.

What is a quint dmg pet and how do you make it

@@ryancraft8909 the word/prefix "quint" (as in quintuple) means 5. So quint damage refers to a pet with all 5 damage talents. So in the case of myth, you'd have a pet with Myth-Dealer, Myth-Giver, Myth-Boon, Pain-Giver, and Pain-Bringer. Usually people work a Mighty or Thinkin' Cap as a jewel or a talent in there since the extra stats increases the value of all the talents. There's multiple ways to going about making the pet, I would start by checking the kiosk for such a pet (I'd rather not make a pet tutorial in a KZbin comment)

I recommend swapping the amulet for dragoon just because the Basilisk card is very good. To regain that crit, replace a boon with a critical talent. Your basilisk is still gonna do more than frog regardless.

I think dropping damage for crit isn’t needed, especially in Karamelle where Im not hitting round 1 anyways my main hit is Orthrus, I usually am only using frog if my orth doesnt kill, but I can def see that working (also 175 looks better than 172)

I feel like it would be wiser to go with the yevgeny athame: sure, you miss out on 1 damage but you also guarantee your accuracy because that 1% fizzle chance *will* screw you up one day

Doesn’t flat damage come after all of the percent calculations though? So having the even small 4% on the pet would do you much better

You rather have 4% damage than any amount of flat damage. This is because flat damage isn't boosted by blades, since you blade stack and trap stack and hit if your base damage on the spell was 1000 or 900 it makes a huge difference in the end a lot more than 200ish damage you get from flat damage jewels. If we got damage jewels that gave a bit over 600 flat damage then there is room for discussion however as it stands right now flat damage is useless.

If I’m being honest no matter how much people explain it, I don’t understand the new critical/damage system. I understand why they changed it, just cannot grasp the concept!

It uses math to compare your critical rating to the enemy block to decide if you crit or not, and if you do crit it uses math to compare again to decide their chance to block it. If they do block it, it's just normal damage. Exactly like if you hadn't crit at all. If the crit is not blocked, they again compare your crit to their block to decide how big the multiplier is. If you have higher crit, it might be more like adding a potent feint to your hit. Lower crit, or higher block, might reduce the multiplier to be more like an extra blade or trap instead. The goal is to have somewhat high critical to critical often and have a high multiplier. For defense, higher block will help you to completely block critical damage, but will also reduce the multiplier of any crits you don't block. I hope that makes sense?

from datamining the formula is: Roll critical >If critical true >play local animation track = character:waitforchild("criticalanimation") add damage*[abs(" _root.monster.intATK" -"_root.monster.intHP")/(level_critical*0.5)] to base if_root.monster.intHP < _root.monster.intATK*12.5 set level_critical = 300 _root.monster.intATK is your critical rating. _root.monster.intHP" is the block of the thing you are hitting. level_critical is a fixed value that changes per character level / creature rank it's calculated differently but basically at lvl 140 it's 908 while at lvl 130 it was 838. If the monster has no block the 2nd line of code is set to make it 300 which i believe is something they added in order for lvl 1 noobs not to be able to crit for x2 damage using pets with critical talent for pvp or something.

There are selfish talents that boost strength, intellect, agility, will, or power. You can either add Mighty (65 Strength boost) or Thinkin' Cap (65 Will boost) to increase your pets stats, therefore increasing your damage talents. You can also add Cautious (25 strength + 40 will) which will basically have the same effect for your damage boost, but keep in mind that if you want the max damage and critical boost, use Thinkin' Cap because it affects both damage and critical. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THOUGH is to have your base stats max, at least have have most of the stats max except intellect which you can ignore if you're going for damage and crit. you can use pet stats calculators to see the % of what your damage will be at even before leveling your pet up, petcalc.weebly.com OR you can do it manually by looking up the calculations of a talent on the wizard101central website like www.wizard101central.com/wiki/PetAbility:Myth-Dealer#axzz6ehHtTVRU. @@jberlin88 i just threw together everything on a spreadsheet, i got 203% damage, 623 crit, 19% acc and 105% pip using the Royal Fusilier's Dress Coat, but you would probably want to run Tenni robe for the extra acc and crit, which would still leave you with 200% damage if you're using Ghulture.

@@hunterp2321 I’m using dragoon hat, tenni robe, zamunda tribal boots, zamunda spear, dragoon athame, dragoon amulet, the new 19% ring, quad damage pet from fossil set, and the fossil set mount. I got 197 damage, 28 accuracy, and 87 pips. Quint pet would give me 201 & gulture 202. The royal robe would be 205 max with 23 accuracy and 91 pips I believe.
