Shift doesn’t need a change it’s balanced the way it is. The problem with shift against ice wizards however, is that the lowest pip dot they have is frostbite which requires 5 pips. If ice had access again to the mutated locust swarm which makes it an ice DOT, or ice elf, this problem with shift would be completely resolved. I think life also has this issue, but not to the same extreme since Life’s lowest pip dot also places a healing tick on the user, cancelling out most of its own damage anyways and setting up gambits.

Myth has had shift for over 10 years…. Why would they not be the school that does that? Other schools are the ones that shouldn’t have it. *cough cough* BALANCE

Shift is a legacy spell. Under current rules, shift, steal ward, steal charm, snow drift, and many other legacy spells doesn't make sense being in the school they are. In current rules, shift would be a life spell, steal ward would be myth, steal charm would be death, snow drift would have a different name under the storm school... The list goes on and on.

@@scionofshadow Maybe the problem aren’t the legacy spells, but that they are changing each schools identity to some nonsense. For example, storm has always been an anti-blade school since the Dawn of the time. They used OG catch of the day, OG sirens, leviathan, disarm, enfeeble, OG glowbugs, and now they have thrown it all out the window with their new RoShamBo wheel nonsense. A storms identity has always been that they have those spells and other certain spells, not that they need to counter a certain school. And Why has the most offensive school turned into a partially healing school with some of the new spells lmao

@@michaelxthunderthe problem is that they refuse to just abandon old concepts in favor of new ones, and what ends up happening is some schools being massively favored by the overlap of effect dominance, and other schools massively prejudiced. Myth and Storm are the 2 big examples. Myth now has dominance over shield and weakness users, but shift and earthquake grants some dominance over blades and overtimes, making it a behemoth to deal with. In other hand, Storm lost its blade removal ability and gained almost nothing in return.

@@scionofshadow Ice also went from being the best school in the game for over a decade into one of the worst schools because anybody can shift a frostbite now and abom is 2 shadow pips. They used to have colossus for extra damage but they nerfed that too. I also remember death was absolute garbage when level 130 was max, and now in the new worlds they are unstoppable because they have as much damage as storm with almost the resist as ice

Frost beetle was insanely meta in grandmaster queue some time ago. No idea how it is now but i remember even off schools were carrying main deck beetles.

whats your thing with myth shifting, wasn't shift always their spell? over the years its honestly lost usage because protected DoTs exist

KI seems to forget about balance wizards and their universal blade handicap. Your forced into using spirit or elemental blades, if you want to use any low damage gambits for its benefits. Wish they would make balance school blade non-universal. But keep the dragon blades and bladestorm universal. Best of both worlds.
