The Obstacle is called the "Water Fall". Seemed most of your group had All Terrain tires and were running with no lockers. I also don't have lockers but I run with Mud Terrains and they have excellent traction on the Desert Rocks. Nice that you helped out that fella that was caught at the top of the water fall. Safe Wheeling...

I never get love for my WJ. It's nice to see enthusiasts out there. I'm in the SF Bay area. Any people near me?

Didn't see any springs pop out in this vid!! Can't wait to go off-road for the 1st time in my WJ I just got a few weeks ago.

Interesting how the "mall crawlers" had an easier time handling the obstacle than the "real Jeep"
@desertmaverick75676 жыл бұрын
Ya, that white Sport Jeep Wrangler had All Terrain tires and ran open, open. That added to the fact that the line being taken wasn't very advantageous for it's setup. Running stock really limits the articulation that one can get with just a simple leveling kit and some upgraded springs. Looks like you were all having lots of fun.

The jk had trouble because he didn’t disconnect his sway bar like you’re supposed to do. The stock setup will flex more than you think

tliggexperience but stock wj flex out at what jks do with sway bars off😂🤔

First to like. Love your WJ. I put a 2" BB on mine and now I got a death wobble. Hopefully I fix it soon so I can start driving it again.
@averagejoe4x46 жыл бұрын
Thanks Yia, every time I take this WJ out wheeling I just lie it more and more, these are great vehicles for sure. Carefull with the BB, I know why people do them and actually its not a bad idea to use them for a temporary period of time, you can check on clearance of tires and ride height before you spend money on a specific lift. But if you plan to do any wheeling in the future you'll be much happier with an actual lift. I had that death wobble when I first got this WJ, prior owner had that same 2" BB on it, so I splurged and got the Iron Rock Offroad 4" critical path lift, so far no death wobble.
@yiayang34036 жыл бұрын
The Average Joe's of Arizona What all did you do to it? IRO lift comes with everything you need or did you have to buy other things? I'm new to this so just putting on BB for now but after I did that. I definitely want to go higher and better now. I was thinking the same 4" lift too.
@averagejoe4x46 жыл бұрын
I did the IRO 4" Critical path lift, additionally I added the IRO WJ Adjustable A-Arm kit. Personally I think IRO should have this kit come with the lift kit, but they sell it separately, kind of BS if you ask me. I also did the bigger tires, and offset rims. So far that is it on performance items.

I'm really liking those front cut bumpers. They address the clearance issue and it gets rid of the loaded-diaper-look in the corners up front. Can we get specs on the red WJ on JKs?

I was gonna say, I love Box Canyon. Then I realized it's a different Box Canyon, the one I have wheeled in a lot is in Wickenburg, in the Hassayampa River Bed. I'll have to check out the one in Florence next time I'm down there. Is the women's prison still in Florence?

Nice video's I'm becoming a fan of your vids, some times wish I could just hear the rigs working but that might just be me. I just bought my second WJ - out of Tucson, very well built. Any way, it doesn't look like some of these guys air down, do they not? Would love to come out and wheel with you folks! With my WJ, not my Scrambler :-). Also what kind of info can you give me on the one Red one with the winch in the front (meaning the winch set up and how). That is a pretty cool looking set up. Very nice set of WJ's

Nice video. I have an 02 WJ, and as fun as that looks don't know if I'll ever do it but would like mine to look as though it could. What size tire and wheel do you have ? That look solid ! I was thinking of putting a 2-2 1/2 inch lift in.

Is there a club you belong to and if so when do you plan on going on another run? Looking to get involved with a group and do some trail runs. Thanks
@averagejoe4x46 жыл бұрын
Hi Allen, I don't really fully belong to a club yet, I've been active on a few FB clubs, Jeep Club of Arizona, AZ WJ's, and WJ's of AZ to name a few. I've checked out those pages for upcoming runs and ask if its open to tag along, and I've posted on the WJ sites when I planned this run to see who wanted to go. All 3 of the clubs I mentioned are great with nice people involved. I will be posting a new video of a Wrenching Party I went to with Jeep Club of AZ, great people.

The Average Joe's of Arizona, and the reason they're great people is because they drive WJ'S. my brother in law and myself have one each, his is a 1999 wj v8 and mine a 2003 wj 4.0 6.

What wheel and tire are you using on the wj?
@averagejoe4x46 жыл бұрын
A 265/70/17 Goodyear Wrangler Authority on a 17" steel rim with a 4.5 offset. Tires are just a hair too big for the lift I had to trim up the fenders, but I found them at Walmart of all places on clearance for $50 each, couldn't pass that up.

If it's a wj with the quadra drive I wouldn't go over 3" on the suspension lift. It will put your front cv drive shaft in a bind. they dont like the steeper angles. also the rubber cv boot will tear from the angle...I put a old man emu 2.5 lift kit with a poly 1in body lift on mine also got the bush wacker cutout flares made plenty of room for 33"s. But if you dont have the quadra drive I'd go for the 6". But you will have to deal with the death wobble.
