It's fascinating reading some of the comments criticising various aspects of this match. 12 minutes pretty much none stop is incredibly impressive. And as for the 'sloppy technique' comments, maybe, if being judged against the grossly exaggerated training techniques that are designed more to condition muscles than to use in combat. These two karatekas deserve respect. Most of those criticising I suspect have never even trained in anything.
@squatch5706 жыл бұрын
Exactly! People who call them sloppy techniques have never fought full contact at any, especially this, level. So they don't have any real world experience to know that techniques won't look perfect every time BUT they will be effective.

I didn't scroll down for too many comments here, but I totally agree with you. The speed, the intensity, and the on-spot punches and kicks were just amazing.

Videos like this always bring out the "experts" who think they know everything. All they can do is criticize to try to cover up their own insecurity.
Kato san is a pitbull! She demonstrates a remarkable skill to evade punches by rolling her shoulders and still make an effective attacks (sabaki from the hips up).

kudos to both fighters, the Japanese fighter did good blocks, the Kazakhstan fighter has good drilling punches. but both seemed to be sloppy in combos, only the first few strikes in the combo showed good technique, the rest are sloppy. but understandable though, been in that situation where exhaustions takes the best of us, especially in a tournament.

First ever seen Karate in this way..always seen in semi-contact. Because all martial art forms like Kungfu, Taekwondo & Kick-boxing are always been dangerous full-contact sports. But Karate is in semi-contact, but this video I liked it so much. But still they didnt allowed to hit in face. Still not been in the category of full-contact.

I wonder why the don't do this kind of karate in olympics? Difficult to score?
this is kyukushinkai karate not Shotokan JKA. They do not punch the face only the body. So they can go close quarter and exchanges many punches to the body and then suddenly kick to the face. Shotokan cannot go close qaurter except when to deliver a punch usually to the face.

Amazing endurance! Just 3 mins of kumite is normally really tiring for most. And they held up to 10! Wow! Especially against an opponent who is also good. When kumite, your form doesnt rly count at the scores as long as you do it effectively since when it's bad and u get fatally wounded, it's ur fault lol
@tyronekim35065 жыл бұрын
Untrained fighters also don't have good form. But wtf, it's the knockout that counts, right? What good is training if the form is bad?
@anniechen025 жыл бұрын
@@tyronekim3506 i am not saying that form doesnt count, it's just it doesnt have to be really good/perfect like kata. Ofc form is important for A LOT of things but what i was saying is that the points and fight is the thing to determine whether u win or lose
@tyronekim35065 жыл бұрын
@@anniechen02You are right. In a fight, winning its everything. But a trained fighter should have, at least, an appearance of a trained fighter. Look at a boxing match. A trained fighter in a boxing match is enjoyable to watch, showing skill and artistry. Most of the Karate matches that I've seen have been slugfests, exchanging blows with another, little to no blocking, bad form and throwing wild punch and kicks. The fighting is no different than two untrained guys in a street fight.
@anniechen025 жыл бұрын
@@tyronekim3506 Once again, as i had said, form is important for a LOT of things. My sensei is one who presses on good form, but in kumite, one normally does not retain the form he has during practice. It is different. It depends on how experienced and well versed that person is though. So what were you actually trying to point out? It depends on the fighters, and maybe you have yet to see alot or do not properly understand.
@anniechen025 жыл бұрын
@@tyronekim3506 Btw, the form looks bad because lack of experience, not because the fighter isn't that experienced in kumite/fights, since they are different. I repeat, *they feel different*
