I found $20 yesterday at a museum. The lights were kind of low, to avoid fading the exhibits, I guess. So, I did not see it on the floor right away. I picked it up and looked around. The only other folks there was a couple, 20 feet away and walking slowly away from me. I walked over to them and asked if it was theirs. They said no. I was worried that when walking over to them waving a $20-bill in my hand they might think it was some kind of scam. It's in my wallet now, thanks to an anonymous donor.

@ Fair point. But part of the grift is to communicate like criminals, who are usually uneducated and often stupid. As well, maybe that's baked-in? Like, you want your mark to be kind of stupid and uneducated, and greedy. If someone overlooks poor spelling and grammar or don't even notice it they are halfway there. The "Nigerian Prince/Spanish Prisoner" scams work this way in part. Emails are badly spelled with incorrect grammar because they want to weed out people who can think critically so they don't waste time.

Yep, this happened to me. A guy showed me a paper bag with $3,000 in it, he told me he wanted to go into the stripclub to get a lap dance, but was afraid the stripper was gonna steal his $3,000 dollars. He asked me if I could hold his money, while he went inside. He also asked me if i was trust worthty. I told him he could trust me with his money. He then asked me if i had any money on me and to proof i was thrustworthy, he said to put my money and his money in the same bag. I immediately gave him my $300 thinking I was gonna get away with this idiot's money. We put my and his money in the same bag, he gave me the bag with cash and he walked into the stripclub.. When he was out of my sight, I headed towards my car and left. When i was in a safe area, I opened the bag, just to find a whole bunch of newspapers in it....
