My favorite part is how they dont have enough fuel to bring him back to earth, but they apparently have enough to send him directly into the sun.
@masonharris9166 Жыл бұрын
Well yeah. They could probably get him into the atmosphere, but he would need to have a way to land and you can really do that without fuel. To send something to the sun, all you have to do is break orbit and line up the shot.

When you don't have enough fuel to deorbit to earth but have enough to deorbit to the sun
People are saying if they didn't have enough fuel to send bobo to earth then how did he get to the sun as if trevor had any intention of getting bobo back to earth
@AGenericFool Жыл бұрын
Even with a little fuel as long as you can vaguely change the trajectory to the sun it's fine. Cause ya know it's teh fucking sun, a star. You know what percentage of mass the sun is if you take OUR WHOLE SOLAR SYSTEM, with all the planets, all teh asteroids, even the oort cloud etc? The sun is 99.8% of the mass of the solar system. Yeah that big glowing yellowish ball of death plasma heate death is gonna gravitationally attract BoBo without a problem as long as he vaguely moves in that direction, or just slwos down enough. RIP BOBO btw + astronomy is based + remember kids there is only ONE solar system, if you call other stellar systems "solar systems" you are cringe + dumb + wrong + (sorry I just see and hear it way too often to not bring it up) xoxo + rip bozo uh I meant BOBO

It would take way more fuel to get to the sun than to get back to Earth. Assuming he was in orbit they would only need enough fuel to kill a few hundred meters per second of his orbital velocity, and atmospheric drag would do the rest. To get to the sun they would need enough fuel to kill about 30 kilometers per second of orbital velocity so that the ship would no longer be orbiting the sun with Earth, but would fall into it. It actually takes less fuel to escape the solar system entirely than to reach the sun. The escape velocity from the solar system is about 42 kilometers per second, but we would get a boost from Earth's orbit, which is 30 kilometers per second, so we would only need enough fuel to add another 12 kilometers per second.
@kazibazi4 жыл бұрын

@c2monke Landing takes a lot of fuel, retro-thrusting and all. Presuming that the module was already in orbit, then they wouldn't need much fuel at all to get to the sun, as there is no air resistance in space. He might not get there very quickly, but lack of fuel wouldn't really be a concern.
