Rootbeer was my favorite bc it made me feel like a grown up. With grandpa I played pool and watched football in the basement next to a legit poker table with a dart board on the wall.. the late 80s were a dream to live. In Belgium we have something called tafelbier. Translated: table beer. It has a small percentage of alcohol and we give it to our children. It's tasty (especially the brown variant) and it's healthier then coca cola. We mostly use it to make our Flemish stew.

I go from town to town with my boyfriend who is a construction bum... One time we lived in a hotel in Wells Nevada and the lady who ran the hotel had a son who LOVED his construction equipment toys and liked to hang out with the guys. We always kept bottled sodas in the fridge for him, so he felt like one of the guys when he came over to chat at our barbeques and shit... Little kids like "beers." Also, they like to take the last sip of beer left in the bottle when they run to the fridge for you to grab you another one .. Makes them feel all grow'd up!
