Not in Italy, I had family who migrated to italy when i was 13 and my grandmothers cousin developed alzheimer's and qas sent to an old care home, I visited the old care home and it was a fucking horror story, nurses were abusive talked to the patients like inmates, there was somehow mould growing on the fucking sink, you needed permission to leave your room, even if you were a visitor unless you wanted to leave, it was smelly and dirty holy ahit I felt bad for the patients, never again that scared 13 year old me

I like the message at the end, I visited granny all I could, and even in 2020 I slept on metal chairs at the hospital to keep her company. It's important we realize about appreciating the elderly before they are gone, in fact to an extent the same philosophy can be applied to all our loved ones, better live a life that leaves as few regrets as possible, even if sometimes we must sacrifice comfort to achieve it.
