Uhhh yeah. Instead of getting PTSD, Bill was simply murdered in the jungle and his trauma and guilt ridden mother and father blindly accepted this stranger, who's Bill's murderer, as their son because they don't want to emotionally face the death of their actual son. This Vietnamese soldier, who likely _DOES_ have PTSD and likely won't seek help for it, will also likely go on to exploit and abuse Bill's parents as they age, and use Bill's inheritance to further his or his government's own interests. If the Feds ever start to wise up to him, he'll probably take a few hostages and end up in a stand off between him and Feds. The whole thing is likely to end in a shootout and some of the hostages, who could very well be Bill's own mother and father, will die in the process. Possibly at the hands of this soldier. So yeah. This is SOOO much better.

When my son was in scouts years ago we had a Vietnamese kid in there too. Kids attended with a parent at that age. One day my son was pondering ethnicity and, in front of the kid and his dad, asked me "where is he (the kid) from?" While I knew he was asking about ethnicity, I answered based on reality ((unless he reformed the question). I said "from America". I had to repeat it a few times because the son wasn't comprehending. He was BORN in America and that made him an American. We're a country borne on ideals and beliefs and not of ethic heritage. I wanted my son to understand that. Now the kids father could have been a boat person but he beamed at my answer because someone was accepting him and his kid as being 'one of us'. I hope they treat Bill here as one of us too. Sure, he replaced the Bill he killed but you can't undo that. And, maybe if they do support new Bill they will see merit in assassinating LBJ. Not because he is the president but because he was a giant douche.
