Train Announcement for Malaysia LRT Kelana Jaya Line onboard Bombardier Innovia ART 200 from Gombak to Kelana Jaya. This is the previous version of the announcement on Kelana Jaya Line voiced by Datuk Yasmin Yusoff and can only be heard on the unrefurbished 2-Car trains.

To those wondering why this set of PA does not consist of station names for the Putra Heights extension, this was recorded (yes, including Sri Rampai, it’s just that this station opened 12 years later) way back in 1998 when it was opened as PUTRA LRT. It’s not surprising if RapidKL have the full archive of all official and alternative stations (for example, Gombak was an alternative station name because the station was originally named Terminal PUTRA when it operated in 1999 before it was renamed to Gombak in 2011-renaming of Putraline to today’s KJL) and other PSA recordings (terminus station, etc.).

Notice that she has a certain way of pronouncation that can only explained by professional linguist, such as the way we speak had evolved for past 20 years. Fot example, she read Asia Jaya with longer A than we do today, and a lot of clear distinction between each vowel-consonent combination (Kerinchi, for example), now we do speak faster than people 20 years ago.

My Dad and I used to go on this train from Kelana jaya to kampung baru and Ampang park this was just for fun and there was a kfc in both kampung baru and the ampang park building before they knocked it down

I wonder why they replaced her voice. The last time she had to do the voiceover was Sri Rampai in 2010, so it should be recent enough for the Putra Height stations in 2016. It would also be interesting to see her voice the number stations (SS15,SS18,USJ7,USJ21) because of dual language. But I mean, the new voice is alright, and at least that one includes the interchanges in the announcements.

Most of the announcement are replaced with the newer version which is in used now during 2016 after the LRT Extension Project is completed.
