@Cya no.. it has never been and never will be about safety. Its 110 percent about revenue..issue is we truckers have been using cameras and video to prove all the false tickets...

@Cya very few people want to put junk on the road because of the liability. I'm a master certified HD truck mechanic, as well as a driver. These inspectors are poorly trained and have very little knowledge of mechanics on trucks. They write a ticket for a cab clearance light that burned out in the name of safety, but miss major issues. It's about revenue generation.

Well, I inspect my vehicle top and bottom. if there is something wrong that the weight stations can pick up later, I'll get it fixed as soon as possible. All weight stations should be open and that available screening technology be available to see that all trucks don't have any hidden faults.

Militia is starting to take a step forward with a bold voice and the Constitution running audits of all law enforcement personal. Our purpose is to test our law enforcement at every angle to see if they can be turned around and put back on track to bring our constitutional rights back to us. Liberty is brused and we the people needs to help heal her. I encourage all to learn your rights please. We are not a free state anymore. Most of our public servants are failing to realize the rights to the people. There are even some that take advantage of the citizens whom know not their rights. This is how we have come so far out of the way from being what our veterans have fought for. I was arrested last night running an audit on the ky state police. I was tresspassed on tax payer's property. Which is illegal. You can not be tresspassed while on public property that tax payer's pay for. Like, county, state, and federal buildings that are not restricted to the public and is accessible thereof. Only public property you can be tresspassed on would be a place like a store. Sure it is public accessible, but it is also privately owned. Being tresspassed out of or off of a state building or property that is accessible to public would be like being arrested off a sidewalk, or even a better example ur own land. You privately owned ur land, but to u it is like public Access only too u. Police can not make a complaint against u either. Police actually have no access to the public due to they have no rights. Why? They have no rights because they get their taxes back. Police have totally difference laws. Once I clear this case up, I'll be going back to run another audit.

How about the fact that these pavement pirates violate drivers rights all the time and make things up and harras drivers just to meet quotas?

@Cya 80-85% of all car vs truck accidents are the cars fault. Thats from the NHTSA. Majority of truck drivers are safe drivers but we have to contend with idiots in cars day in and day out. Weaving in and out of traffic, cutting across 4 lanes right in front of a truck just to take an exit. Brake checking trucks etc. I can go on all day

Weigh stations are incorrectly named, they are really ticket centers. I made shure i kept out of them as best i could. Drove 11 western for 2 years, got inspected 3 times in about 6 months. 2 good logbook checks, and one bad (no ticket, first offense). After that I said fuck this, and started dodging. Went 9 months, before getting caught (got a fix it ticket), then went another 9 months then i quit. CA wasent for me, hint. They didn't get much money outta me for a reason obviously. When i got caught that one time. My weight was good, and my logs were straight. I just HATE scales.

I love how the driver that wants the scales open is a Teamster. He works for ABF, a unionized company that l believe is interested in safe and compliant vehicles and drivers. He has protections in his workplace that most of us sheep that go through scales do not have. I agree with him that safety is important. Unfortunately many companies only want to put on a show of safety and compliance. Most of those companies are non-union. I detest that term but it applies to the vast majority of drivers out here, myself included.

I was arrested at the I-71 Weigh station for not assisting D.O.T in a safety inspection. Charged with failure to display CDL's on demand, and refusal to submit too safety inspection... Here is what happen. (CASE DISMISSED and EXPUNGED!!) When I had entered the scale, I was directed to the back too the main scale. Once weighed, I noticed I was 2600 lbs over on my trailer axles. I was directed to the parking area and go inside the building. There were signs in the parking area that stated, " bring all paperwork inside". I decided to stand up for my legal constitutional rights and walked in without them. When I had entered into the building, an officer of the KSP named Mr. Piper had asked me, " where is your paperwork?", I had replied, " what is your probable cause?". Mr. Piper commented, " I dont have probable cause and i dont need any." I had informed Mr. Piper that under the 4th amendment of the constitution The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. At this point Mr. Piper had asked, " do you have your license?". I informed Mr. Piper that my license may have been in the truck where i usually keep them and if i did have them on me, it is considered a personal effect. Another officer of the KSP named Mr. Payton confronted me and asked, " what is your name?" I had told the officer my name, in which I did not have to due to the laws stating that No I.D. has to be given unless I was arrested for a crime. (Some states are stop and I.D. states, these types of states are only required to show I.D. if you are suspected of committing a crime, have committed a crime, or a crime is in progress" After I had given Mr. Payton my name, he had asked me, " What is your Social security number?" No government official has a right to ask that of any one. Your SSN is not required to be given at any time or situation and should not be asked. My reply was " I plead the 5th". Mr. Payton continued and said, " we can not run your information in our data base just by your name, we need another form of I.D or information to be able too." I had informed Mr. Payton, " Since there is no probable cause, I do not consent to you running a check on me thru your data base as it is a form of "searching" and is against my 4th amendment rights therefore i plead the 5th. Once Mr. Payton knew that he could not proceed to get what he wanted, he had informed me that he was going to inspect my truck. I had told Mr. Payton, " That is fine, the keys are in the truck, you may go and inspect it." Mr. Payton had replied, " You have to be a part of the inspection." I commented back, Show a law or regulation stating that a driver has to assist D.O.T in a safety inspection. Then another officer which was the supervisor by the name of Mrs. Horts got hostile and said, " What, you a lawyer now, you think you can do my job better than me!?" I decided to not say anything to her. Then Mr. Payton commented, " I am going to give you another chance to comply, We are not qualified to operate your Vehicle." I replied back to Mr. Payton, It is not my problem that you are not allowed to operate the Truck, but how ever, I will give you another chance to look up the regulation located in CFR 49 396 and show me where it states a driver has to assist D.O.T in an inspection? When you can show me that this regulations states that I have to assist you, then I will happily comply with you, but until then, I will respectfully decline your request and I plead the 5th in doing so. Mr. Payton refused to obey the command of a U.S. citizen and failed to uphold his duties as a "public servant" in serving me in my request and had also failed to uphold the rights of the people, the laws and the regulations as he had sworn to uphold and had arrested me illegally. It was all thrown out of court and expunged. Government officials fail to realize that the constitutional rights of the citizens of America does, and can, and always will trump any law or regulation or ordinance that is put in place. Congress makes these laws and only congress can pass these laws. In the beginning of the constitution it clearly states, " Congress shall make no laws against, and it also states in the constitution that congress can not infringe on the rights of the people. The constitution can not be removed. It is set in stone.

So you were 36,600 pounds on your trailer axles. Isn’t that illegal? Legal weight being 34,000 pounds. I haul heavy equipment for a living. It’s not uncommon for me to weight over 100,000 pounds going down the road. Why is is so hard to comply with the officers. I take my paper work in they look at it and say thanks have a good day and I go on my way. I understand all you wanted to use your rights but you just made it hard on yourself. I’ve been over weight on my trailer axles before in Maryland. Gave me a 100 dollar ticket and let me go. It’s not that big of a deal. It’s people that don’t comply with the officers that make it hard on the rest of us

That was a pretty beleivable story up until you said you didnt have to show your I.D. ANYTIME IN ANY STATE that you’re driving ANY VEHICLE on a public highway you are REQUIRED BY LAW to produce your license to ANY peace officer upon request. Driving is NOT a right and the Constitution has NOTHING to do with it. You’re quoting laws that don’t apply to your situation. You’re acting as though you are walking down the street and the Cops are trying to I.D. you. In that case some of those laws you quoted would apply depending on the state you’re in. I’ve been driving trucks for 38 years and my father owned a trucking company since 1952 up until he died in 2012. I know trucks and truck drivers AND laws that apply to trucks. You Sir are so full of shit that I can smell you all the way over here in Nevada. Some of you truck drivers are nothing more than big bellied windbags that get off on fabricating over the top stories and lies about situations that never happened. The Officer’s made up names was a fine touch to your long winded tale of heroism but we still don’t believe you. 🤷‍♂️

I wonder how many lives would be saved if reporters were fined everytime they created a problem where none exists? According to NIHTSA truck drivers are not the problem. Distracted, drug impaired, reckless, careless, drunk, four-wheelers are the problem. We account for 20% of all traffic incidents on the road. Why aren't they talking about that. We are safer than grandma on the phone, eating a burger, doing her makeup, while trying to use her in car GPS (that isn't an exaggeration. Saw it on I24 near paducah, ky). Need more KSP to enforce current laws, and stop harassing good hard working people.

Look at the idiot 30yr union driver wanting the scales open more, the police are a union and don't go against another union so he don't have to worry about the scale house. Doubt my police and the union thing, thats why when a union goes on strike a company has to hire private security and no one gets arrested when that brick goes thru your window.

The woman reporter needs to driver her POV into the scales daily, pay illegal tickets, and get a taste of how LE treats professional drivers. And what crack is the trucker they interviewed smoking?

Safety starts with the driver who's supposed to do a proper inspection before driving and yes we can't find everything but it's also a company's job for maintenance too. Some of these inspection stations are filled with rookie inspectors who don't know what drivers know and make mistakes and drivers pay for it not to mention the time lost that we don't get back. I'm fine with proper competent inspections but not at every scale

DOT check eats up your 14 hour clock and you are forced to work for free. Nobody pays you to participate in an inspection. Besides, I've had a cop threaten to level 1 me until he found something.

Harassment and total discrimination against truck driver. It is harassment at the workplace with this report they are showing how much they hate trunk drivers. Why I only do Shaq truck why not to check regular car, they have unsafety issues too.

Well they could shut the North bound scale just north of the Tennessee line. Tennessee scales is right there, so you drive through the Tennessee scales, cross state line and boom the Kentucky scales. What waste that is, close that scale completely make it truck parking for night time. Move those officers to other areas better to be served by the man power.

They're so damn concerned with safety How about y'all start laying the fine for texting and driving around the same for everyone. A trucker can pay up to 2500$ for a text while driving ticket. Everyone should be at that level. It would fix alot of stupid shit on the roadways.

If its not a retired trucker working the scales its usually some early 20s bimbo who has never seen the inside of a truck or knows anything about them. They just read their law book and give tickets for what they read. I had one bimbo kid give me a level 1 in utah once and she had no clue what she was doing.
