I love the movie obviously (Spielberg duh!) but it doesn't make me cry at whole. I feel somehow detached, maybe because of the historical magnitude. It feels more like a History class than a compelling story for me. Though, technically, it's perfect in every way, shape and form.

That scene is utterly heart rending and so emotional(the new live action remake totally wasted/butchered it) but just fyi, it's not "the last time". He doesn't lose her; they're reunited at the end, Dumbo becomes the star of the circus and Mrs. Jumbo gets her own luxury train carriage to ride around in and they all live happily ever after.

Interstellar. That movie has a few different scenes that really tug at your heart strings. First moment where Matthew Mcconaughey's character is leaving earth to save it and his young daughter who he holds a close connection to feels like her dad is abandoning her and won't say goodbye to him. When Mcconaughey's character encounters a massive time difference when he is in outer space and he finally gets a message log from his kids; who are now all grown up and are older than he was when he left earth. And lastly, who could forget that scene where Mcconaughey becomes stuck in another dimension that is made up of past memories of his life. And it cuts back to that first sad scene in the movie where his daughter won't say goodbye to him and Mcconaughey starts screaming trying to talk to his daughter through this other dimension "Don't let me leave Murph!" How gut wrenching 😥 Then he finally arrives back to earth like 80 years later to find that his daughter is still alive but an old frail woman who insisted on being in cryo sleep because she knew her dad would eventually come home... Then I think something along these lines were spoken by him to his daughter, "No parent should have to bury their child".... That hits the hardest
@unkannyunkanny9232

It's the other way around - she tells him to go away. She has her family. It's the reversal that nails people. Her first words to him is that she knew he would come back - her Daddy promised. In that moment, she's that vulnerable little girl again. That moment was why she went into cryo. Yet she decides how much time to spend with him and sends him away. She's dying yet has the strength to let him go which she couldn't do as a child. Her life experience as a parent and great grandparent outweigh his. His sacrifice enabled her to save the human race and live that long life. She understands that his life was to get back to her but now he has no mission; once she dies, no purpose so she gives him a new mission - find Brand, love, live. In that moment, she's no longer speaking as child to him but as an elder.

I cry at so many films, I can't even keep track anymore! I'm like Javier Bardem in that way. What I do know is the film that I cry the hardest and the most at: Blood Diamond. That film with Leonardo Dicaprio was so riveting, so powerful and so very bittersweet. I loved it so much. I've seen it four times now and every time, like clock work, I full-on sob at like 4 different parts in the film. HE SHOULD'VE WON THE OSCAR FOR THAT PERFORMANCE!

Inside Out - the scene where Sadness takes control near the end of the movie. As someone who finds it difficult to express her emotions and/or often hides them, I found it very relatable. Also, when both Sadness and Joy create a new memory together. That was definitely a happy cry. It showed growth and maturity in that character, which I thought was a lovely moment.

The most recent movie that made me cry was Inside Out. Two scenes for instance: where Joy cries in the memory dump while looking at the core memories. The big scene that got me more was when Riley returns to her house when Sadness takes over the core memories. I started crying when Riley cried about missing her old life and her parents comforting her. Very well directed and emotionally engaging.

Sarah Connor hmm...why do you say that like it's something to be embarrassed about...? And it's not a "gay Cowboys" movie, it's a movie about two boys who fall in love. That's that. And it shouldn't be anything else because it is one of the most beautiful movies of the 21St century period.

Enough with 'gay cowboy movie' thing. Its just so tired. It's a movie about forbidden love.

It's the first movie I ever watched where I actually burst into tears - not just start crying but burst into tears. When Ennis visits Jack's house near the end. Everything is in the mother's face - she understands everything. My heart just breaks

The most recent was The Imitation Game, cried like a baby. The ending was sooooo unfair but historically accurate :(

It's based on a true story that's the sad thing, but it's also the good thing.

A lot of films have impacted me on a deep level but there are two films that went right to my soul: La La Land made me bawl like a baby because of all the dreams and the dreamers and love. But Call Me By Your Name broke me. It was the most beautiful film and I will never ever forget it. Anytime that I watch it again the tears always come. My heart longs for what they had that summer.

Yes... when E.T. is found laying in the river, deadly sick. That shocked me as a kid. And afterwards it needed so much care, but they wouldn't allow anyone to touch it or see it... It seemed oddly realistic

probably the lovely bones and the basketball diaries. obv the story of the lovely bones is heartbreaking, but the cinematography just makes it so much more emotional, for me anyway. the basketball diaries is probably one of the best movies ive ever seen - if you haven't seen it, i recommend you do (leo dicaprio pre titanic!) hands down, amazing film about drug addiction - haunting

Eternal sunshine isn't sad (well in a way it is) but it makes me cry every single time I watch it and I've watched it nearly 100 times. Yes I love eternal sunshine.

I have to agree with Natalie Portman on this one. The “where are his glasses? He can’t see without his glasses” scene in My Girl is just devastating. That one, and when Artax the horse dies in Neverending Story.

The ending of Empire of The Sun. Christian Bales character went through so much and for him to almost not remember what his mother looked like and the only way he could remember was the different parts of her. Her hair, her lips. Then he finally hugs her and can finally close his eyes. All that combined with the music, damn dude, I'm not crying your crying.

Thank you so much Andrew Garfield. I couldn't expect someone to pick "In the Name of the Father", just as I would have. My favorite movie in the world, it gets me every time. And by the way, this is a great video with a brilliant idea.
