Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh (Hsieh pronounced Shay) is not only about building a first class Customer Service Team. It's also a blueprint for building a 1st class company. And the all time classic How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

The spiritual successor to that last book is also good: "Don't be a dick". It is a short book. I'll paraphrase it: Don't be a dick. This also helps in keeping customers.
