I know I’m late to the party but I can’t thank you enough for both the video and the foresight to use the s-bus in this way. Well done !

I just scored a used Voltage Block (it arrives tomorrow) and another seller in my local market has a Metron+Voltera bundle for the equivalent of about $590 USD, which they've agreed to hold until my next payday. Along with Circadian Rhythms, Blck_Noir, LXR, and Bitbox2, Grids, and Euclidean Circles, plus a stack of logic, switches, clocks, and other utilities, my drum case is now creeping closer to 2x Mantis cases full... Suits me! Really looking forward to adding this. Watching this entire playlist again over the next 2 weeks, then it will arrive.

hey Alex, great series of videos. Is there S Bus connectivity with any other modules in eurorack?

The WMD Sequential Switch Matrix, Make Noise Rene 2, and Macro Machines Storage strip are the only I can think of atm. thanks!

What other modules can be used with sbus? I am definitely going to try this out when I get home with my metron and voltage block. Thank you Alex!

do you have your Voltage Block set to Slave in this video? is this required to use the S-Bus, or can you use Clock mode instead? thanks

This is great, thanks for the tutorial. Can I recall presets on a Melekko Varigate 4+ using the same S Bus technique?

I tried and couldn't make it work would love to hear other experiences.

Really helpful feature! Any idea if save messages over the Bus could be realized at some point in the future or is that simply not possible? Would be great to unlock all those banks hanging around in the background.

We've thought about it, but not sure it can happen.

In your video it seems you are on cv mode. Is that right? I can't get a sequence going in CV mode. I am playing around a bit because my S Bus on my Voltage Block doesn't seem to respond to the program changes.
@WMDevices2 жыл бұрын
Send me an email invo@wmdevices.com if you can't figure it out and I can try and see what's happening. Quick note, the Voltage block still needs Clock, as it does not get a clock through S Bus, it's just the midi information. thanks!

How is SBUS hooked up? What wire is the signal traveling on? The Metron manual barely explains the feature and this video doesn't cover the connections either.
@WMDevices2 жыл бұрын
It uses the 16-pin power cable and the case's busboard (the power supply PCB) to send the signal. It uses the CV GATE bus that is built into the busboard for midi messages instead of CV and GATE. It's great because it doesnt take another cable to function, it just uses the cable that you are using for power already!

@@WMDevices - A further question on this topic, If I may, please - I'm about to get a used Metron, but I don't have Voltage Block, and until AMMT is up and running and has the Voltera back in production, I'm curious - Do you know which other modules it plays nicely with? Would it talk to Metropolix, or Tetrapad/Tete, the latter of which has a voltage block function? Those modules sit in different cases from where I am planning to rack the Metron, but maybe shifting it from the drum case to the control case would be worth it if it works with them. If not, patch cables it is, no problem. Just curious.

@@richarquis At writing time, Reverb has new stock WMD Voltera modules. Metron doesn't have a native interface with anything but S-BUS and Voltera. It'll happily sequence anything that responds to gates/triggers though. It doesn't sync natively to Arpitecht, but using two tracks on Metron you can do a ton of sequencing.

@@WMDevices Thanks so much for your response! Glad to hear the Volteras are back in stock, and as for Arpitecht, the used module in my local market has since sold, so between Metropolix and Metron with Volteras, that's still just a boatload of options. I'll see how it works with Metropolix/Marbles/and Tete/Tetrapad and take it from there. Thanks!

Durnit, I’m trying to find a reason to not buy a Metron, as they will soon be unobtanium, and this isn’t helping!
@pyrox25184 жыл бұрын
Is it also possible to instead of loading presets. to clock sync trough the busboard?
@WMDevices4 жыл бұрын
No. The Busboard is restricted to the Select Bus Functionality. There is STG syncbus on the back, normalled to clock and reset ins so you can clock behind the panel via that if you get creative ;)

Guys, my metron is only firing on track 1. Tracks 2, 3 and 4 although has a pattern is not triggering. The lights on Track 1 trigger output blinks with the pattern but tracks 2,3 and 4 are no not trigger at the output ? i am hoping its a setting and something I have done. thanks

Hey did you ever get any help? I had a similar issue when I first booted up and turns out the tracks were just muted.

You know, if you didn’t have Alex as the constant spokesperson for the Metron . . . And if you didn’t have him playing the same kind of soulless sh#T OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again, it might show as being a really intriguing device. I mean, I’m interested. But without any variation that pleases my ears, why would I put out $700 on a module that I don’t even know can make music? So PLEASE, let’s get some variation and show your eager public what this is capable of - if it is capable of it. Thanks!
