WMMT6RR+ Announcement & New Features Information

To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune Series, the Development Team announced the new version titled "Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 6RR Plus" on October 22 2023 last week.
A lot of new features and information is revealed during the announcement and this video is going through them in just 4 minutes.

IMPORTANT NOTES / CORRECTIONS
[Feature 2] As pointed out by a commenter, Mr Yakata has actually confirmed the final list of 6 event cars that will be made available from start in the livestream. The list is the same as the one in the video.
[Feature 3] The slight physics change will affect handling and power to a mild extent starting from 600HP. The effects of weight and power is felt at low gears and high HP.
It is not a major change to the game, it gives the car the "shaky movement" seen in another Namco racer "Dead Heat".
[Feature 4] Its unclear whether new aero kits will be added to the DU parts list of some cars or replace existing ones for those cars.
[Feature 4.55] Titles earned in 6RR can be carried over to the new 6RR+ version.
- Forgot to add to the video due to oversight, sorry for the inconvenience.
[Feature 7] The cut of the song I theorized to be the new 6RR+ entry theme is actually the OFFICIAL THEME as it was played throughout the livestream. The song was released on the internet shortly after the announcement but no clean audio exists as of now.

Thank you for the update video first off. Second, All American players are delusional if they seriously want MT6 at all. From 5 to 5dx+ is a huge update compared to all of 6 to 6rr+. New cars doesnt make me want a more grindy money taking game or terrible physics or playing through 100 stories. Nothing of this should not make any US player want 6. It adds nothing more worth value and i hope we stay with 5dx+ for a long time.

So if WMMT6RR+ is releasing exclusive for the Japanese/Asian market in 2024, then there is a slight chance that WMMT6, under the name Maximum Tune 6, can release in America, just like how Maximum Tune 5DX+ released for the American market in 2022 as WMMT6RR released for the Asian market in 2021.

The Japanese JAEPO event confirm several key point: It will be run under Event Mode with 4-player match You can't use your own Bandai Namco Passport during the event Only Fairzady Z Version ST(RZ34) can be used, but are allow to choose any horsepower to play

Unfortunately, you won't be able to hold on to your FT Tickets once the next version releases. Before 6RR dropped, FT Tickets was on the list of nontransferable items.

​@@djtroopersmy sticker fix for WMMT is also another mobile game from Namco-Bandai which is Drift Spirits... they have some of the stickers from the old WMMT games and even more customizable stickers that you can make a custom livery but on a certain customizable car but the rest have their own make sticker At least I could slap a full CF body colour on a customizable RZ34 in Drift Spirits unlike in WMMT🙃

@@ArbitraryOutcome Probs manufacturer related considering the Nismo, Ralliart, TRD stickers for some models. But yeah Namco could've just removed those and made custom generic stickers or ones similar to Ridge Racer in their place. But all of them were removed in 6.

i can tell that this is the last game in the 6 series and WMMT 7 will release after 6RR+ becaause for the colour of the 5DX+ logo, the colour is gold. WMMT 6 came after the release of 5DX+ 2 years prior and the same thing will happen now because the 6RR+ logo is gold so the colour of the logo gives it away.

Yes you can transfer your data to next ver (6RR+ e.g.) on terminal. You can use that same card on both 6RR+ cab and terminal once transfer is done.

You need talk to venue manager first. If accepted, they'll change settings by turning event mode on depending on format (FFA/2v2s).

They got something golden on their hands and don't realize it, especially if they were to do a full worldwide release in the future. Cabs are expensive af from what I remember (a set of two plus terminal goes for around $30k from what I was told) but imo are very well worth it if properly maintained.

I doubt they'll do that. Blocking/Brake Blocking is used by majority of Maxi players and adding such mechanics would ruin the game. It would work in early days when clean racing was popular but now? Too late.

Its okay to have different preferences, you can enjoy clean race (Go All Out) to same degree as playing other styles. But IMO brake blocking shouldn't be banned, I think it must remain as a skill/playstyle of choice in Solo battles and a necessary strategy/role for Tag Battles. Like how I think Handicap off should remain in the game as a niche for anyone who prefers an "actual race" despite nobody doing it since the late 2000s. Me and my friends brake block/block a lot. You can do it without slamming excessively or slamming at all. Just enjoy the game your way and don't be toxic to others. Your call. (Apologies for a long essay).

Ehh I feel that 6RR+ is pretty rushed, like the dev team is pushing out something half baked for the 20th anniversary of the Wangan Midnight Maxi Tune series. For the new event cars that will be eventually be added to the car selection in 6RR+, Yakata basically has confirmed in the livestream that: BMW - M4 Toyota - GR Supra Mazda - ND hardtop Roadster Nissan - Leopard and S130 Honda - S2000 (a godsend which players can finally try it out after 6+ years and subsequently devalue the datas that has S2000s in it since it isn't a 'rare' car anymore rofl) For the aero kits, I'm not really sure if it will be a new addition or they will be replacing the aerokits for the cars, heard some third party info mentioning the aerokits will be replaced with new ones (RX-8 and S15 at the time of the livestream last week) Also for the 432 orange custom color for the new Z, it's probably a homage tribute to the Z432 and Z432R that has this color.

I'm still waiting for claims from bamco themselves if whether or not the old licensed wheels that were removed are coming back or not. Same goes to the livery, just strange that they brought back the straight neons. I love that they do because the current neons we have look absolutely fucking garbage lmao, too over exaggerated. Old removed license plate covers should really make a return, majority of em were removed for no reason. Probably for dress up space yea but man that sounds utterly idiotic. I don't wanna have too high of a hope and will be waiting for another information

I don't know why they didn't announce return of stickers and other DU parts removed in MT6. But it is the first ever 6RR+ announcement and maybe more info will be disclosed in future. Just have to wait and see.

Not a thing yet. Many in community thought MT7 would be next, instead Namco decided to announce 6RR PLUS.

No official information about it is out atm, so best to wait until Namco discloses more details. IMO it probably won't happen.

I don't know why the R50 got DU but the R35 didn't, maybe contract reasons? But all information above is from the official announcement and maybe more is on the way. Best to wait and see.

Sadly DU parts changed with stickers & watanabe wheels removed. Namco has no intention of bringing back stickers atm.
