nice, I actually own that exact example. I get that it's probably the not the best value proposition, but it wears really well and looks incredibly cool. someone mentioned steinhart, which are pretty cool, but a few things there: They are approaching twice as expensive (700 euro vs i think I paid 500 dollars), and I just don't think they quite nail the look as well as the WMT. They are close, but WMT absolutely hits the nail on the head for the "vintage" diver. the analogy for me is how a perfectly fitting suit of slightly lower quality fabric looks way better on you than a gucci suit that's the wrong size. side tangent, steinhart made a beautiful paul newman homage but in 42mm, that's sacrilege!

Nice review! Keep hearing Mike from the Two Broke Watch Snobs podcast talk about these. The watches certainly look great and achieve that vintage Rolex Comex/Mil Sub look that they're going for, but damn they are wayyyy overpriced IMO. That's a $250 watch, tops! For the same money you could get a Steinhart, which has the same look and is a far superior watch in every aspect. Thanks for sharing & Happy Holidays!
@tedblack24152 жыл бұрын
Gotta agree on the pricing , never thought i'd say this but you're better off getting the San martin vintage diver or Iron watch for under $250 , i get the aged pitch wmt are going for but not at +500 US but they've sold out so that's one in the eye to us.
@JustWatches12 жыл бұрын
Yes, I saw his review. Maybe it is way overpriced, I thought the aging was cool. You are definitely right about Steinhart, and I think they make one similar to this. That one would be a much better choice. Thanks for watching and happy holidays!

Very nice, the only thing that bugs me is the indices don't match the hands in terms of colour and also the colour choice, the orange is a bit too much. Also bit pricey for a miyota 8 series. Nice job with the review though.
@JustWatches12 жыл бұрын
This one is a NH35, but apparently all the new ones are Miyota 8 series, and I totally agree. I would never pay retail for a Mitota 8. Rumor is NH movements are in short supply, but I don't know if that is true.

Is this a better buy than a San Martin sub or Pagani sub?

No, I don't think so. You are paying for the aging, but you get way more bang for your buck with San Martin or Pagani!

Chinese watch with a Seiko movement.
@edmundchiang19 күн бұрын
It is a Hong Kong company although the case, etc would be made in PRC with Japanese movements, as with many other non-Chinese brands. Thus, I am sure not if I agree with your description of ``Chinese watch''. I do wish they use a higher grade movement.

This watch screams: "I want a Rolex 5514 Comex Submariner but either can't find one or can't afford one." An homage to certain design elements, or an aesthetic is one thing but THIS is way too on the nose for me.

@michlo3393 one of the heavily aged milsubs has just arrived which I've ordered. It might not be the best value but the quality, the feel, the worn patina and aged lume is great. It's the closest I'll ever get to owning a milsub for sure 😆

It’s a gorgeous watch, albeit overpriced and at the price I would have expected a sapphire crystal, not acrylic which to me would certainly be a game changer.
@JustWatches12 жыл бұрын
Everyone seems to agree these are overpriced, and I also agree now. Still a really fun watch!
@duketogo6662 жыл бұрын
You're not going to get this kind of dome on a sapphire crystal without spending the Earth. Acrylic is totally in keeping with the vintage look WMT are going for, and the original references would have had acrylic crystals. I don't see acrylic here as a cost-saving measure, but a deliberate design choice. Better a good (pricier) domed acrylic crystal than some ho-hum top-hat sapphire just to tick a box. Most dome-like sapphire I can think of is the Limited Bulova Milships (not the regular one) and that cost near $2K USD, and the dome is still the wrong profile for this.

If you want a sapphire crystal on that watch you didn´t understand the concept.
