Fun fact, the associate producer seen in the credits, Burt Kearns, would later work for Paramount Domestic Television as managing editor of "Hard Copy", and before that, he worked for 20th Century Fox Television as managing editor of "A Current Affair."

Gee-whiz @ 06:33, in Midtown Manhattan a mounted policeman ties up his horse in order to go to the bathroom, then the police horse escapes getting accidentally hit by a cab in the street, which severely injured the horse, whereby the authorities have to shoot the horse, so as to put him out of his misery. Crazy stuff.

Minnesota has an NHL team again, but it's now called the Wild (that team having started in 1997 [albeit not officially debuting with gameplay until 2000], after the North Stars went to the DFW Metroplex in 1993 and shortened their name to the Stars [that being, since 1993, the NHL team of the Metroplex]).

From what I've seen of 1980s WNBC newscasts; usually during the "control room" set era there would be a second desk behind the main desk where sometimes a reporter would introduce a specific story he or she worked on that had been shot earlier that day.
