Why won't you admit you don't know who you are? It can be a scary space but Son it is worth stepping into. You need to know whose image you are made in. Your divine purpose, the calling, and gifting on your life. It is a life long discovery. And if you are a Black American decendant of African enslaved ancestors, your whole identity has been purposefully taken, disrupted, and hidden. We as a people have had more time enslaved than free.We were striped of name, religion, culture, dignity, rights and even the full status of human was denied our ancestors. We were brain washed, endoctrinated, experimented on. We were taught to worship a White Jesus and then we were let free. When did we take the time, effort, and commitment to heal, to even know we need to heal? We just hit the ground running in our mostly bare feet. And that was true to our ancestors who watched jaguars ran and we also ran in jungles, savannas, along side rivers, and mountains. We ran into freedom as systematic racism continued to rape our people. Yet you men chose to have this discussion to wonder why this poor sister is so messed up when you don't even know you don't know who you are. Wake up brothers. Mama says it is time to get up. Much love and wisdom to those of us who desire to receive.

I wasn't sure why this video triggered me initially. It dawned on me a few hours later. This conversation is just so indicative of what I've experienced. Rather than acknowledge mistakes and accept reality, she wants to tell you why (or justify why she’s going to continue the same behavior), she wants to give you an example of when the behavior would make sense (hence constantly bringing up F-boys and broke men) and she wants to explain why she is the exception to whatever is being discussed. It causes the conversation to go round and round in circles and ultimately goes nowhere. I would have respected her more if she simply said “look, I’ve only dated broke guys and F boys and I’m probably not going to stop. When you date those guys, being in your masculine is just what you have to do because they aren’t worth much.” At least that would have been an honest and genuine conversation. Instead, the conversation was about her avoiding accountability and justifying poor decisions.
@marsmith19072 жыл бұрын
But therein lies the paradox. These types of women actually become feminine and submit to pookies and F-boys. So if she said that's all she had dated in the past, it wouldn't justify her hyper-masculine traits, today. I've noticed that this talking point is used by the pookie opposition, aka "nerdy" black men. You can't say that black women aren't submissive because pookie made them submit in their youth. Straight-laced black men are some of the biggest enablers of this boss bitch behavior as well. But what's the common denominator???
@vaughnjalesa Жыл бұрын
Coming from a woman, I definitely agree with you. I related to some of the things she has said but would have also liked to hear her be more accountable for her actions and be real with him and herself, the real problem is she doesn't see it as a problem unfortunately. What I'm failing to understand is why black men and women are so against one another? You've got black men, in one corner, pointing the finger at black women-as a collective group-for the misbehavior of a certain few black women. Then, you've got black women in another corner doing the same thing against black men. When will this nonsense end? Just like I would never dismiss ALL black men, because not ALL black men are the "good for nothing thugs" that society portays you all to be, not ALL black women deserve to be dismissed, because not all of us are the argumentative, masculine, bullheaded, irresponsible people that we're painted as being. It really puts a woman like me in a difficult spot. Although I get approached more oftentimes than not by non-black men, I-personally-have no desire to be with a non-black man. It's not a matter of prejudice; it's that a non-black person will simply never be able to put themselves in the metaphorical shoes of a black person. I've spent the better part of my life having mostly white friends, and having to water myself down as to not offend *them.* Having to tread lightly in conversations about racism as to not hurt *their* feelings. I don't have the energy to be that person in an intimate relationship. So, with more and more black men adhering to this SYSBM mentality, it's leaving the black women-who desire to be helpmate to a black man-high and dry. Our oppressors have done an impressive job in pitting us against one another.

The bigger picture is that women like her suffer from the fear of being unsafe unprotected by men who are not capable. Maslow's hierarchy of needs foundation is physical needs food shelter but next is safety. Women are made to be protected by men and our men are not as capable of protecting them and providing for them in many instances. They are a mirror of the men that they do not want but they are also more accepted in society jobs etc

@@faheemfaquir1024 Maslow’s hierarchy of needs isn’t an issue for women in this society when it comes to the lower rungs. You can’t take welfare and social benefits and still complain about not having what they provide. What’s interesting is that other groups of women can make it work, but it’s just impossible for black women. It’s also interesting that black men marry more and there’s less of them compared to black women. Where black women mess up at is that their worldview is different from black men’s. If you really want to get into Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, black women stall out at “love and belonging” and “esteem”. That’s something that black men can’t fix because black women do not find those 2 needs from black men.

When I was younger I found women that deflect simply frustrating because of their circular logic and the fact that all problems started from someone else; but I wrote this off as the difference between men and women. As I've gotten older I see women that behave this was as emotionally and psychologically abusive. The perpetual deflecting, blame shifting and moving of the goal post are actually gaslighting and there's no way a woman can see a healthy long term relationship while acting this way. I'm convinced that many young women don't want a healthy relationship, they simply want series of shallow wins that last about 3 - 5 years. That's why when you hear from women in their 40s discuss their failed relationships, if they take accountability and show introspection, they often mention that their biggest problem was being difficult, playing games or otherwise antagonizing the man.

Very true....! There was a young lady that I really liked back in the day.. we dated and I found her hostility and masculinity was more than I wanted to deal with in my life. At the time I didn't know what the term or name was but it was there and I thought I dont really want to be with a hostile man or a mean bossy MOM! I'm a grown ass man who owns his own company are you kidding me! I like natural feminine women. The thing was... she liked me but her projection and masculinity would just come out and it was a turn off. Later down the road she tried to apologize but it was too little and too late plus I was engaged or already married by that time.... she knew she was doing something wrong and after more unsuccessful relationships with other men she started to see a pattern. Im sure she knows she messed up but I never would rub it in her face. She just couldn't listen and wouldnt hear it when I would tell her I dont appreciate that kind of behavior or attitude. I got tired of it quick. Anyhow im happily married 20+ yrs my ex is still single. I do wish her the best but I have no interest in that type of women. My wife is a strong women, hard working, petite, feminine, caring, loyal and NICE! Kind of a funny story about my ex girlfriend and life after... My wife was out running her 5 miles and when she got back she was like hey! I saw saw D at the park while I was running through there. Really? Yep she was arguing with her boyfriend by the pines! They were loud too they better be careful before someone calls the cops on them.🤣We just cracked up because I knew my ex well enough.🤣 I just shook my head grimacing a smile and reaffirmed my abilities to dodge bullets. I'm so glad I did not go any further with my ex girlfriend who was a single mom with kids, masculine and argumentative. I was dumb for even considering dating her in the first place when I look back at it.🙄

Bro genuinely wish this woman the best. There are many women who see things from her perspective and I truly hope they can overcome the damage made by arduous upbringing. I want the dichotomy between us to end, but until women like her see life for exactly what it is rather than what she was told it should be, we can't get better.

I love how women work to shame men instead of fixing themselves to be more desirable. A lot of women just expect an outcome without discussing their expectations because most people (especially black people) have no idea what a healthy relationship looks like. She also lacks the ability to recognize that her actions directly influence the results she gets. She refuses to be submissive and when confronted she says men just didn’t “step up”. Ma’am, why would I step up for a woman in process? Why waste my time?

This is an example of the type of BW I DON"T ever want to be with. There are good ones out there to be sure. However, the ones who use the default excuse of "this is how we were raised" are not worth the headache. I've known a few men who gave women like her a chance and they all paid the price for it. Most men desire peace and she and those like her would give anything but that. I haven't given up on BW but I made the decision a long time ago to steer clear of the ones who are broken like her.
