The chaos sword you get from the Yellow Turban boss also has metal scaling, but I don't know how it compares at max level to the Podao since I am not that far along.

Wow. The weapon animations are pretty high level. Really like how 'dual wield' and 'stealth' are 'water.' That's where I would go. I just realized Katana is Japanese. I was looking for a cool fire or 'bleed' katana. Guess there's Sekiro. Great clip. Really a lot of crucial content for people thinking of buying. TY.

They make weapons like the poleaxe and the hammer, which are comically massive, look almost practical. Which is really impressive compared to say, Elden Ring's collosal weapons which are mostly all animated like theyre being held by cavemen

lol this is a criticism i have of Elden Ring and maybe the most popular Souls games. I'm finally getting into this having never seen anything other than the original trailer. I had heard that it was a simplified Nioh so I kinda avoided it but I was also waiting for and working my way through all of the Stranger of Paradise DLC. Now here I am with a game concept I'd actually requested back when playing the first Nioh: "I wish there was a Three Kingdoms Nioh game". Now, I'm kinda hoping that I can customize my character to look similar to my Nioh build@@armintor2826

only podao for metal? really? edit after some testing you can use a lot of weapons for metal, but I find the white wooden cudgel with an A- scaling in metal should have been mentioned....also Guding blade is full metal.

Are there diminishing returns past a certain point for each stat/virtue as most weapons have A scaling off at least 2 different stats so would it be better to split your stats into 2 virtues for higher damage and better build/ spell variety?

There is indeed Soft caps, same as Nioh 2, it varies depending on the stat, some said weapon damage soft cap at 30

well you would want to invest in Both Wood and Earth anyway to increase your HP, as well as weight so you can equip better gears. Not to mention the others benefit like you lose less spirit in Wood and gaining spirit when deflect. Also take a look at your weapon Stats, some has negative rate (probably) like A- , C- etc then you take that weapon and play the one that only dismiss 1 rating . Like for example, I want to play FIRE I will take Iron sword as it only has A- Wood attribute and C- Metal which I dont care since I dont play that route. But I wont take Iron sperum because it has both Wood and Earth Negative rate

u get the spell from water spells which turns you invisible, well i think stealh is viable, bow is good clearing mobs, but vs bosses u need melee weapon anyway, just find one which scales good with water attribute. Also dont touch bow if you gonna play with mouse/keyboard , its fking disgrace :D

It is not, it lacks all the mechanics that made nioh 2 fun. this is basically sekiro with nioh rpg elements. all the weapons are literally the same, basic attack spams and thats it, it doesnt really matter which one you use cause all of them play the same and the game revolves around parry and stamina depletion anyways.

Think about it less as a Nioh 2 sequel and more of a Nioh spin-off. Shares several gameplay elements, but has enough changes to make a difference. Also, the setting and influences are also noticeably different.

It's based on chinese myth so no, China didn't really use Katanas at all unless they got some from trade. They probably don't want it to be confused with another Japanese themed game so they kept them out specifically to get more of their individual identity

Just played through the demo for the 2nd time and came to the conclusion I'm not getting this game so sick of parry systems. Loved elden ring so much cause there was so much variety to how you can play but the parry systems in souls like games have grown old on me

I'm actually loving it more now, after being forced to play parry focused. I disliked Sekiro at first, because of this, but I've come to like adapting to these systems. With Elden Ring, I automatically abuse the OP mechanics and end up with a bleed twin blade turbine. I just can't handicap myself 😄

I had 4 playthroughs in ER with different characters without parrying a single time. Soulslikes usually focus on dodging/rolling more than parrying.

It's not as complicated as it seems.its actually easier than than you think. Trust Me understand you. I never passed the 2nd Sekiro level.this far easier and you can actually make an easy mode by building your moral to 25 by grinding low level and leveling up.then transfer over your character to the main game stats and all.

the weapon variety in this game is so bad. its mostly different versions of spears and swords... who cares they are and play almost the same anyways. nioh 2 was way more interesting in that regard. also, still waiting to see daggers in one of those games :/

@@jaggedsabre splitstaff, switchglaive, claws/fist weapons, kusarigamas and hatchetsfor example. they're a lot different than the x different sword/spear variations this game has. just look it up on the wiki. nioh 2 has a lot more weapon variety than wo long.
