I'm getting a little nervous with the Pedro news and the galactus rumors. Us Latinos aren't the right group to "pander" to. I've been asking for more brown representation, but I also know that half of my people consider themselves white, and they are routinely part of the loud vocal groups that hate on any character changes for representation.

Normally I love the show but this episode was tone deaf. This really needed a Latino voice in it. The fact that one of the most talented actors in the world is being looked at to play a major role and the yet the conversion was dominated by kevin f's comments and Pedro's skin color. When other white actors were discussed nobody brought up their skin color only their talent. But everyone can see him playing Dr. Doom because audiences have been conditioned to see the brown guy as the villain. This shows us just how far we are from a diverse universe. Sad vid guys.

I'm latino, I believe in diversity and inclusion and I am a very big fan of Pedro Pascal and believe he's great at anything... with all that said, I do think that Reed Richards should stay white, some characters don't need to be changed just for forced inclusivity and some characters don't work, especially when it feels forced. But I'm sure Pedro Pascal will kill it and I'll probably be fine with it once all is said and done.

I feel like they danced around it and Kristian was the only one pushing the issue. It’s disappointing because I respect Coy and Winston, but their willingness to say “na I don’t believe that happened” was a big let down. I don’t think Sneider would say that in today’s climate unless he knew it was said, and they just dismissed it. If I recall correctly, as rare as they do, Marvel can change their film titles. So the secret wars pt 1+2 can work, or recasting if Marvel is confident enough in doing so. Doom s cool as he is would have to be written really well to supersede Kang and replace him

I seriously think if they felt like Majors wasn't going to win his case they would have let him go by now. I think Kang Dynasty is getting pushed and Shang-Chi 2 is getting moved up. If for some reason he does lose the case it would be smarter to recast with an older variant and not speed up a Doom storyline. Love the show.

I remember a few years back when Kevin Feige said the future of the MCU was women and POC.But this is not what I was thinking of; in fact, as a crazy FF fan for most of my life, I've been slightly dreading this issue. Regarding race and the FF, I'd prefer the FF to be all one race, any race. I'm Black and the FF are all-white in my mind (and that's *so* fine with me), but an all-Asian, all-Black or all-Latino FF would be cool as hell. There are a lot of worse choices than Pedro, though. I just want a good FF, regardless of whom. What Winston says about race and casting is right (and I've heard John Campea say this, too). As far as Sony Adjacent SpiderVerse is concerned, I'm with Winston and Kristian: in my view, I would have rather had all the non-Venom Sony money go to Andrew Garfield battle Scorpion :)

Kind of a newbie question, The movie version of Kang seems to mainly rely of tech to be his powerful self. So why wouldn't anyone be able to beat him if they where smart and lucky ennough to remove or diminish his tech advantage. Even at the end of Loki Season 2 he depended on tech to stop time etc. but Loki was just able to do it without aid. If Kang was indeed a badass in the comics the movire version seems to have failed to show that and reduced him to a sometime smart guy but mostly buffoonish person who at times is lucky to have a gizmo to give him powrer. This is one storyline Disney and Marvel should prune to get back on track.

So I was saying when the Infinity Saga ended that I hoped all throughout phase 4 and 5 there would either be post credits or in the background of scenes you'd catch glimpses of a light in the background. With the idea that as all of these movies like Wakanda Forever and Ant Man and Eternals, Doom has been in the background collecting treasures, technology, mystic artifacts and you didn't need to show him till MUCH later even till Secret Wars that he's been amassing power the whole time. Obviously they can't do just that but you could have something like that in Cap 4 where you just see a glimpse of him stealing something in the back that way you're not locked into casting yet but just have the green cloak and a time platform going off to show us that Doom is making his moves.

@@johansvensson833 they'll want a somewhat famous person for The Thing regardless of being CGI or not, they'll no doubt show him at some point in his Ben Grimm form and Marvel has a track record of having CGI characters have somewhat known actors even just for their voices or sharing a subtle likeness to their character (The Hulk, Rocket, Groot, Thanos, Pip, Korg as some examples). It may very well be similar to the case of Pedro Pascal's involvement in The Mandalorian, rarely ever in the suit or on set but lending a voice (also like what Bradley Cooper does with Rocket) or they may go the Hulk route and have the actor mo-cap and performance capture

I don't know what is going to happen, but here is what i think should happen. spoillers for those who haven't seen captain marvel and the mid credit scene. . . . . . . . Okay, so in the mid credit scene we see the beast and binary. heroes from a parallel universe. my assumption is that this is setting up the universe in which our mcu universe will be having an incursion with. secret wars could be the two universes fighting to see which survives. which is fine, i don't mind that as a plot line. my thought would be to continue showing us this new universe. I hope they don't limit us seeing this other universe to credit scenes. I would love to see movies that take place in this other universe. i think it would be much more meaningful to have us invested in both universes when it comes time for secret wars. perhaps the previously titled kang dynasty movie could be secret wars part 1, where we spend more time with this alternate universe and secret wars part 2 is the incursion/fight between universes.

Biggest problem with Pedro is how old he is. He's pushing 50, how long will he be able to play Reed? And if rumors are true about the rest of the cast, he's about 15 years older than Sue. Driver would be such a better choice, and feels a little bit more like Reed. Personality-wise, Pascal seems more like Ben... or a really old Johnny.

He's the same age as Cumberbatch and others who will continue in the MCU for a long, long time. And his powers are alll CGI.... so Pedro could conceivably play Reed into his late 60s if he wanted.

Honestly, I’m not for it. It’s also developed into over exposure where his casting is less excitement or intrigue and of typecasting as the gruff but caring father role get again, and it’s lost the luster after Mando and Joel.

Re: Casting, There’s so much that we cannot possibly see in the decision making process. What if marvel offered others the role and they asked for too much? We talk about decreasing budgets, maybe casting Pedro vs Adam plays into this strategy? Maybe the apparent quote from Feige was taken out of context as we’ve seen him make well thought out decisions in the past which do not center around a singleminded worldview. I say we trust the casting and see how the it plays.

In regards to Jeff’s tweet about Feige’s concerns about the F4 cast, I believe that was 1 of several things at play. That was just the only info Jeff’s source provided. I don’t think the cast ethnicity was the ONLY factor. Just seems like a fleeting comment that may have been said in one of many meetings. Wouldn’t be the first time the Fantastic Four was diverse btw. Jessica Alba is half-Mexican, and let’s not forget Michael B Jordan was the Human Torch in the Josh Trank F4. Also, Pedro Pascal refers to himself as “White Latino” because his grandmother was from Spain. So I don’t think diversity is too big a deal in this case, once the previous cinematic versions are taken into consideration

If Kang is supposed to be more powerful than Thanos he shouldnt have been beaten by Antman and his ants. If you defeat one version of Kang the threat of all other Kangs is diminished since Ant-Man is not that powerful compared to some other heroes. I think Antman should have been defeated in the movie and left trapped in that multiverse where he is in Antman 3. They basically did the same mistake they did in Force Awakens with Rey managing to defeat the wounded Kylo. That made Kylo more of a comical villain than a real threat.

Great show today! I agree 100% about the Pedro Pascal in as I dont really see him as Reed but if he was cast because he was the best choice than im fine with that. If its because of the other reason that is just wrong in my opinion. I also agree with Winston on Quantumania that I had no problem with the highly advanced ants winning out becaus ethey are thousands of years more advanced however I also agree that they should have let kang have his time manipulation tech to make him more threatening like he who remains in Loki season2

Everytime ppl use Kang "losing to ants" as a way to knock down Ant-Man 3 and Kang overall always seems dumb as hell. Like he got swarmed by 100's of giant (compared to his size) ants that were highly advanced. And the Ant didn't beat him, he showed up next scene and beat the shit out of Scott and only lost cause Janet came back last second and hit him with that quantum ball shit.

If they don’t use Kang to set up Secret Wars, could they maybe shift Kang dynasty into a Disney plus special like Werewolf by Night to wrap up anything they might want to with the character? Spoilers for season 2 of Loki…… Morbious said that the Kangs aren’t aware of the existence of this new TVA. The one variant in Antman was taken care of so they didn’t have to intervene. So they aren’t going after the other Kangs at the end of the show. They could be later but that has yet to be established. So there’s a way out of having Kang but it has to be established somewhere and while it could be just a quick thing in whatever might replace Kang Dynasty, I think it might be a bit of a shame that it was left like that. I think a special would be a middle ground if it works with their contract with Majors. I imagine it wouldn’t be as big of a gamble financially at least.
