Also this episode is iconic, and I'm thrilled that you've finally seen it! @Visual_Gene On my first rewatch of this show several years later, as someone who watched Friends when it was originally airing, I can understand why. They are such a boring couple once the "magic" wears off. I didn't really notice it when I followed Friends as it was airing week to week but on my god when I binged it several years later when Netflix had it, I was like yeah they're kind of boring 😅. It's like Ross, people used to hate him so much but then when you grow up you start to really understand the humor that he brings to the table for a sitcom is much more entertaining than focusing on whether he was a toxic character or not. It also doesn't help when you realize Chandler loses alot of humor once he gets with Monica. There's also the controversial take on whether Chandler basically becomes Monica's "Yes, maam!" Monica always gets her way and even when you think Chandler is going to win an argument, like hint hint, telling Monica why he doesn't want to spend all his money on a certain thing, Monica finally gives up only for Chandler to change his mind and say you know what yeah I'll use my saved money for that thing you wanted. It's like manipulation of hey Monica is finally going to lose an argument and not get what she wants only for Chandler to be like nah I'll let Monica win again. P.S. This isn't even me hating on a dramaless couple, in fact I tend to enjoy wholesome couples who have little to no drama throughout a series but Monica/Chandler just becomes too bland and boring for my taste anyway.

Also while they are just bland and boring together, to me it felt like if the directors spent more time on them focusing on their flaws and making them work past it first and then if they happen to get together, it wouldn't be that bad. But at the same time,i hate the narrative that is constantly pushed that guys and girls cant just be friends without something romantically happening. We already had one couple, we really didnt need one more within the friend group. My main problem with them is the fact that Monica acts more like a kid, similiar to what you said about her, her doing anything to getting her own way. I think it also contributes to her competitive nature but i try my best to look past it. I also can't stand the fact that she was so upset and b*tchy over her brother and best friend who were in an on-again-off-again relationship kissing talking about "who was stealing thunder" but had no problem sleeping with Chandler on her brother's wedding day. While Monica devotes her life for Chandler, he still fawns over other women (wont say any more to give any spoilers for Oscar but is shown in later episodes) Overall,its just an odd pairing

TOW Everybody Finds Out is one of the top episodes of the entire series for me. It's hilarious and so well done. At the reunion they did a kind of a recreation/table read of the scene where Phoebe finds out (which I highly recommend you watch after you finish the show). "They don't know that we know they know we know!" is one of my favourite lines too. 😂 Fun fact: It actually took Matt LeBlanc twelve takes to open Lisa Kudrow's blouse, which is why Joey's line "Not my first time" was even funnier to the audience. Bob Balaban who plays Phoebe's father starred alongside Matthew Perry and Neve Campbell in a rom-com called Three to Tango from 1999 (same year as this).

Ross and Rachel are going through a lot with the whole Emily thing and Rachel still being in love with Ross, and Phoebe lives in another building. Joey lives with Chandler and pays closer attention to him because Chandler is the brother that Joey never had.

It is, of course, very funny. But it also toes the line of being too over the top and goofy for me. Like when Chandler shoos Monica away and it's just very obvious that they're in cahoots (and maybe more). Certainly one of the most memorable episodes though.

Season 5 Episode 14. The sitcom gold standard that paid off a season long storyline that changed the business proving that having episode to episode story arcs in sitcoms wouldn't ruin rerun viewership in syndication thus it's the norm now and industry standard. But, Friends did it successfully first and would continue to excel the remainder of their series run finding new ways to blow our mind holes and keep upping the ante on season ending cliffhangers.

This kinda happened to me. I fell in love with my best friend's sister. It didn't go the way of the show - Bro Code was very important to me, so telling my best friend became all-consuming. I was so stressed, my hair was falling out. Finally got up the courage to tell him, and he was cool. As long as I wasn't so ME about it. Then he asked how she felt, and I realised...
