Jinns (at least muslim ones) will try to avoid possession due to the Quran forbidding both Humans and Jinns to interact with each other.. So, it's true.. The grandmother did black magic, which forced the jinn into the boy's body, which is why the jinn describes it as an accident, black magic forced it into the boy's body. Lucky for the boy it isn't an evil Jinn, this muslim jinn was a pacifist.

it's also a fairly young jinn if you put into perspective the life expectancy of jinns being thousands and thousands of years. It's almost an infant in a way if you look at the ratio (although i can't speak much on how stuff works in the jinn world/dimension). I was sure reading somewhere muslim jinns don't harm humans so it later made sense too with the jinn saying accidental collision
