Ever since it appeared nearly 80 million years ago, the bee has occupied a special place in evolution. Untiring worker, essential to the development of vegetables, it is one of the foremost species maintaining our equilibrium on Earth. Mankind is fascinated by its perfect organization and its incredible reproduction process. And the relationship between people and bees throughout the world is equally plural. In a world where the climate is changing and biodiversity is gradually disappearing under the effects of “human activity”, the bee is in danger and so is our relationship with it.
This series is equal to this exceptional story and to the last men who are still sharing a close life with the bees for their mutual survival.

The country that 1st accepted Christianity as a state religion. They kept the same practices for 100s of years. Their only objective in life is to live by the word of God which makes them some of the nicest people in the world. I have been there. They would share what little they have with you. Material stuff does not mean much to them. Civilization does not always lead you to happiness. Your relationship with God always does. God bless! By the way, the healing power of the honey from the church incredible and many in Ethiopia testify to it.

Thank you for sharing this short beautiful video. It encompassed so much detail not one short film. I was deeply moved as a beekeeper to see these small moments into others lives around the world. Those sacred churches with the bees in them was enough to renew one’s faith. Truly reverential and holy. It is true that it would seem they live with little in the way of money, but they are wealthy in culture and beauty.

@pearls1626 No one but when the video had misinformation about Muslims in it I felt like adding this and it is relevant because of the importance of bees because if they die we all die... This is youtube I can share my views and I don't really care if you like it! Now I could understand your objection if I posted about Islam with absolutely zero connection but I've just told you 2 connections! 1) the blatant lie about Muslims! 2) The Quran has a whole chapter dedicated to the honey bee because of its important and yet Modern science only caught up to this somewhat recently.

Always interesting to see how people keep bees in different parts of the world. Looks like they tend to do lots of mini harvests throughout the year rather than a small number of large harvests like you would using a Langstroth/centrifugal extractor combo. It's interesting that they also leave it unstrained, wax chunks and all, surely they could run it through a piece of cloth if they chose to.

Why are you always d3nying facts? Do you think this orthodox communities of ethiopia lie ? They have been through a lot to be converted to islam, and they refused and kept to their faith for centuries. Once they have been surrounded by Muslim invadersto they point their king agreed to send every year in Mecca 1000 of virgin girls in order to spare the christian kingdom. Not only that, do you know why many african Hava scarification on they face? Or make some marks and large hollow earrings ? It is all because of Islam slave trading where they used to tak3 african women and men into slavery and mostly men were castrated [ removing their genitals]. Don't you know anything about Zanzibar, or ester african arab slave trading that lasted until the 20th centuries. Most african on the cost couldn't tolerate the suffering and choose to become Muslim, but some resisted. It is not Islamophobia. It is our history
