As Peter Tosh would say" It does not matter where you come from, as long as you are black YOU are an AFRIKAN" and as per the words of the great Kwame Nkrumah "I am not an Afrikan because I was born in Afrika BUT rather because AFRIKA is BORN in ME". And lastly as Bob Marley would say " AFRIKA UNITE" cos we are moving right out of Babylon.

Yes I was just thinking what you said. I love how for the most part Jamaicans don't deny or reject their African ancestry unlike millions of Americans, Afro-Cubans,Dominicans etc. Especially the Rastafarian brothers they have been woke for decades.
@Justafox3057 ай бұрын
@@randogg7815 it’s not millions of African Americans or Black South Americans against Africa. 😂 the majority is pro-Africa, it’s just their anti-African group have a bigger presence online but they don’t rep anywhere near the majority. But the diff is during slavery, the ppl on Caribbean islands were able to rebel and be left alone but the ppl in USA and South American rebelled and they were just k1lled or sent to the islands & the slave drivers just picked up more ppl from Africa and enslaved them, and brought them to America , so the ppl in the Americas never got independant like the Caribbean, but if you go in person, you will see they still speak pre-colonized African tribal language as well as spiritual practices and dances since the 1600s in USA and Brazil.

Rasta ia a big part of our consciousness as Jamaicans. I am proud. As Jamaicans many of us grew up with parents or family not being super affectionate. I love how this man doesn't hesitate to pull his daughter close under his wings literally and figuratively. So happy Maya is making their dream of going to Kenya come true. That was so deep when he said he hadn't been to Africa physically (but in spirit). 🖤

well done! It's a symbol. she embodies the bridge that Africa and the rest of its children need! For a long time we made people believe that it was not possible, or even useless, because the model to imitate was others, but this little girl shows that African culture, including African languages, are a vector of unity! have a good trip!!!
