All of the underrated metalcore bands from the late 2000's and the early 2010 era are starting to vanish. It happened to Woe, Is Me, Dead to Fall, Bleeding Through, Poison the Well, Drop Dead Gorgeous and Haste the Day. Now it's happening to Texas in July and I, The Breather. Man, I feel like the really good metalcore bands burn bright like a star and then fade out within 7 years. Such a shame.

I've still yet to find a song or band that sounds like this and Number[s], other metalcore bands with similar influences and attributes that have a good balance of clean/rough vocals seem so soft compared to this, like either slow paced drum fills or very light guitar riffs with such wimpy breakdowns. I listen to metalcore to pump me up in the gym, and this song is unique in that it's very fast paced with awesome melodies and has a sense of extremity that you don't find in many bands of this genre, but I get tired of it since I've listened to it basically every day for the past couple of years. Memphis Mayfire comes close, but it's not quite on par. I go to August Burns Red and Born of Osiris a lot for pump-up music too, but I don't quite associate them with this type of metalcore. Any suggestions?
@iamwowed10 жыл бұрын
Their has been a ton. Just wiki their producer Cameron Mizell and look at some of the bands he has been involved with. But here is a list of albums I think come the closest. Let me know what you think: 1. Me In A Million - Still In The Balance, 2. Illusions - Origins, 3. Above The Broken - Join Or Die. Check out other work from producers Shawn Christmas(works with Cameron) and Bryce Kariger who are highly influenced by Mizell's signature sound.
@blueskythinking474510 жыл бұрын
Hate to break it to you but this isn't all that unique, this style has been recycled many years before this bands existence
@iamwowed10 жыл бұрын
Brendon stacey I've been following this genre pretty closely for almost 15 years and I disagree. Their debut album was definitely a game changer when it was first released. Sure, like all music coming out now, elements of this sound existed in other bands. But no other band put all those elements together quite like Woe, Is Me and Cameron Mizell did at the time. Prior albums that come the closest were produced by Mizell. After Woe's first album, their producer Mizell got flooded with bands trying to work with him to get this sound. Memphis May Fire (who burgerbuns says "comes close") was one of those bands and they blew up. Today this style isn't unique at all, but before 2010 most bands in the genre wanted to sound like The Devil Wears Prada.
@blueskythinking474510 жыл бұрын
Metalcore came around in the early 2000s with bands like unearth and killswitch engage then around about 2009 this new crop of "metalcore" came out like asking alexandria that's when the genre became diluted

What i believe is that people overly connect to music. Like if they hear problems in the song they want to feel the same so they feel someone knows how they feel. Or if a song is about drugs and sex, people think they need all that just to be happy. If you like the way the music sounds, jam to it, but you don't have to be one with the music my young people. Just go with the flow.
