This is my first (and maybe only) video. I don’t know much about making videos, but I had this song stuck in my head for the last weeks, so I thought I’ll just try making my own version.
The original song was made by The Shiny Snivy, the slightly changed and extended lyrics are from the cover that Mizz Fish made. I just transposed it 4 semitones higher.

Hearing it in a deeper voice just hits different- and I love it. It has a very Lord of the Rings vibe (like the misty mountains song) and that really accentuated the lore aspect of Dream SMP.

(maybe around stuttgart?)

Seriously underrated. One thing I loved from the original was the sense of folklore (as a saga ballad it gives that impression) and your accent really highlights that aspect, and your voice in general is pleasant to listen to. The only thing I didn't like was the changed lyric from "I laughed in pain as I watched them all flee" to "If you think you're a hero die like one!" because I feel like it doesn't really work as well but the added verse(s) was amazing. Good job, will definitely be watching your channel for more.

@@benv1455 I can absolutely understand your point of view but I always loved Technoblade's character because of the obviously bloodthirsty anarchist side of him isn't the entire character and instead he has emotions. He is a person, paraphrasing his own words, and that is something that can be really hard to convey in RP. (He doesn't do it extremely well but that just makes me value the short times he does even more)

She uses the "If you think you're a hero, then die like one!" as a much better punctual moment, but uses additional stanzas written by commenters: I returned from battle all tattered and worn And stumbled upon a poor child forlorn He told me his story, he told me his woes As I thought up a plan for our mutual foes I stealthily went to familiar lands As I gathered my weapons and laid out my plans But when the poor child spoke with friends he had known He abandoned our mission and left me alone I gathered my hounds and made them devour The allies I once knew; sweet friendships now sour And let explosions rain from on high And gladly bid my final goodbye Oh woe to thee, ye People of Order I hope your homes continue to smolder And that you’ll never rise again And woe to those who called me a friend I think these stanzas do a great job of humanizing Techno, especially with how she sings "and left me alone!" I'd pay to see him redo it with Mizz's lyrics.

I love how much attention this song is getting, well done my friend! The accent just makes it all the better :D On an entirely unrelated note, I don't like how the extended version removed the "and I laughed in pain as I watched them all flee", I know the "If you think you're a hero then die like one!" Is a favourite amongst fans, but It doesn't hold as much weight as the original line, it makes you think techno wasn't really bothered by the betrayal or just wasn't saddened by it, which is entirely wrong.

Personal take here regarding "If you think you're a hero then die like one" line: I like to think it's a statement of anger and betrayal coming from Techno. He believes that he's in the right, that he is justified in betraying the group and destroying L'Manburg further than it already was. I honestly feel like it's a line that has to be delivered well to have a lot of power, but I think the changed lines show a lot more of Techno's anger, rage, and feeling of betrayal rather than the original, which shows more of a sort of inner turmoil thing? Kind of an awareness that he used to think of these people as his friends, and it shows more of the pain of being betrayed rather than the anger that follows it. Both different takes with different meanings, and I think they're both good!

Actually a pretty good rendition for a lower vocal range in my most (un)humblest of opinions. You may want to practice a bit more if you desire to continue singing in English, as it lacked a bit of emotion (I suspect, but could be wrong, that it's because English is not your native language, and therefore you were focused on making the words sound right rather than transmitting their meaning, and therefore the emotion behind them.) However! That being said you have a good clear tone and you ought to pursue this talent, if you have not done so already. I would vouch you to actually make more videos of you singing, as you are well above average.

I like this! I think your higher tone at the start is a little bit nasally - it's less prominent as you continue and start resonating with the lower tones, but it sticks out. I can also tell you're not natively English! I've heard that a good practice for ESL speakers is to repeat the lyrics outside of singing voice until they're all comfortable to say and sound correct. Once you have the mouth movements down, it makes it easier to transition into the broader mouth movements of song. It also helps you include emotion - if you've already considered the emotion you'd like to put into a sentence, it's easier to sing it that way. IMO!
