He loves singing his songs for people. What a thoroughly nice man he was. Good, inoffensive, silly, witty, clever fun. There’s plenty stupid people nowadays with very offensive, vulgar, unfunny “humour” that we don’t need. We need people like that gentle man more than ever nowadays.

The great Bob Monkhouse grew up in the days of British radio comedy and would later become a gag writer for some of these wartime comedians in the 1950’s as they moved into television. You really get the sense of awe and almost reverence he is showing to Stinker Murdoch in this clip! He must have been totally honoured just to have been sitting next to him chewing the fat.. three great performers sadly all no longer with us.
