Superb piece of vintage humour. One question, does anyone know who played the part of the nurse?

Show this skit to an audience of maga-morons and find out immediately how completely they will fail in comprehending the brilliance of this humour. . . . .

This was brilliant. No wonder the BBC went out if its way to wipe so much of their best work.

I heard two stories from colleagues about 'fishing' with Mills bombs. One involved the side of the boat being blown out thro' bad timing and t'other was in a private lake by an enthusiastic fly-fisherman (of all people).

Amazing stuff. Sellers can't contain himself. Still he is needed to contrast the pompous acts of the others. I know selfindulging people from the artworld. And it is all about taking yourself way to seriously. The only approach Sellers could have taken, differently, would have been to mock them from a regular Joe perspective. More than he does. Still this is outrageously funny.

Moore corpsing was always the best bit of any Cook / Moore sketch, but Sellers cracked a couple of times there too. Fabulous.

Dudley Moore is the standout here. Peter Sellars was great but he didn’t have what Pete and Dud had.

I reckon just having Sellers there elevated Dud to one of his finest performances, and Pete finished the wheel-bound soldier quite orf... terribly.

I can't believe the BBC erased the tapes although Cook and Moore offered to buy new tapes to replace them. There was real malicious intent behind that.
