As someone also from portland I believe dame did the right thing. I don't believe the front office did the right thing. They have been stagnant for years and had the chance to keep dame as long as they can facilitate a deal. After YEARS they did nothing while expecting a different result. I will be happy for Dame and his next destination, but i'd love to see new management.

@Callasn20 I live in Washington state and a Portland fan for sure. But yo in my opinion that move to sign jeremi grant proves and is reflective/indicative of the type of Mid moves and the front office has failed him with. Like in whos mind does one see the climate of the west last few years and consistently makes choices and decisions and looks St themselves and says yea, we totally built a winner around dame?. And then next off-season they do it again. They never made that bug trade or roster construction in an actual smart or basketball knowing way. They failed him. Dame never failed Portland.

@moythegoat1281 Lol teams have done it for less. Dame is similar to curry, when Curry is off, his had a competent team to help him, not counting KD, just the few years before thst. When the team is off, curry steps up similar to what Dame has done if you've seen his explosive scoring or buzzers. But there's only so much you can do as the #1 guy. It's up to the team as obvious as it is.

To me it was clear just how much Dame wanted to remain in Portland. It's sad the organization was never able to put a winner around him. There comes a time when the writing is on the wall (I mean they literally drafted his replacement) and you have to move on, however reluctantly. I wish Dame and the Blazers all of the best as they move forward into their respective next chapters. Hey Dame - come to NYC! 🙏🏽

He probably told Jerami that he was going to leave but that he would make sure he got the bag before he left because Jerami was just in that rebuild situation with the Pistons, so he probably is not interested in that again. IDK. I am a Miami fan and I am not sure if I want to trade for Dame. My issue is Miami having to pay 60 million when he is 35 years old. In my opinion Dame has 2 prime years left. Maybe 3 years, but for sure two. If I could somehow keep Herro I am willing to do the trade. I rather take Harden for one year and maybe Heat culture might change Harden. I really don't know what is the best move for Miami. I know they need. another guy that can score and create his own shot.

Nuggets fan. Our 2019 play off series against Dame and the Blazers was a key point in the team’s development. Dame and CJ targeted and exposed Jamal’s D to such an extent that Jamal spent the whole off season working on his D. The four OT game was where we learned that Jokic was super human. The Nuggets coaches and players all revere Dame. Malone always praises other team’s stars but none like he does Dame. Good luck to Dame and to the Blazers’ rebuild.

@@paintopurpose You realize that most teams aren't good enough to win a chip, right? When Dame had an opportunity, he was swept by the Warriors without KD. But how in the world is staying and getting paid big time bending over? That makes no sense. He stayed because he wanted that big check. If he didn't sign that big contract, then he would have gotten less money somewhere else. Here's the thing. I don't care if Dame wants to leave. Fine. But I'm not going to praise him as if he's done something noble. His ego wouldn't allow him to request a trade years ago. He thought he was better than other players who requested trades. Portland should demand that if they are sending Lillard the Heat should take Grant as well. This will both help Miami win now (they get a PG and a PF, two positions they were lacking in last year) to play with Bam/Butler and can really have a great team, and it lets Portland do a real restart around their young guys and truly tank next year for more talent

@blablablaa14 Жыл бұрын
@@EJ-gx9hl They won't get back the value they deserve but this is kinda a gift for Lillard and a clean start that lets Portland (who has their picks) start from new. They could package Caleb Martin, Jovic, Herro, Duncan Robinson and Lowry alongside the Heat's 2027/2029 unprotected first picks and a swap for 2028. Its not great value but the real value for Portland is that they will be bad enough to lose enough to add a real high pick in next year's draft. Which alongside their young core and these role player pieces from Miami, could be the basis for a great team Its important to note, Portland has a pick owed to Chicago in 2024, but its protected 1-14, so their incentive is to end 1-14 next year. That pick is then pushed to 2025 on the same terms and continues like that until 2029. So if Portland starts tanking now for 2-3 seasons where they finish button 14 they can keep pushing this chicago pick until they rebuild a great team and maximize their picks

I was tinkering with the trade machine and came up with this. Maybe its too crazy but it makes alot of sense too. Blazers get Herro, Lowry plus 2 first from Miami and 1 from Philly Philly get Damian Lillard, Duncan Robinson and Nikola Jovic Miami get James Harden, Tobias Harris, Jusuf Nurkic and 1 pick swap with 76ers Miami gets their third star next to bam and butler plus a starting caliber power forward, a great backup big man and a pick swap. Philly gets to swap harden out for lillard (an upgrade at this point in their careers) so they can keep contending while embiid is in his prime and adding an off-ball sharpshooter and a young guy with potential. Blazers get Herro to pair with Henderson for their backcourt of the future, bring lowry in as a veteran mentor for their young team on a large expiring contract plus 4 future first round picks. This gives the blazers Scoot Henderson, Tyler Herro, Shaedon Sharpe and Anfernee Simons plenty of playing time to develop with the option to trade one or two plus picks for a superstar if the team ends up being better than expected without lillard in the next couple years! I think this improves the Sixers and gives them a superstar on a long term deal. The Heat get better to contend for a title next year but also have long term flexibility with Harden and Harris having 75 million dollars in expiring contracts to give them the option to go after big name free agents after this year or resign one or both. Nurkic also has a movable contract if they need more cap space or depth outside the center position. And this provides the Blazers an OKC Thunder-like group of young talent and draft assets, giving them a bright future ahead!
