Very handy in the bush. I made one out of a coffee can and used it in the wilds of Northern Ontario. Works like a charm and its like having a good friend by your side :-)

Stir fry is one of my favorite ways to cook and it seems the rocket stove is a perfect fit for the wok. I have seen many videos on people using the rocket stove and have not heard anything negative about it. I love how fast and easy it lights. I have it on my list of things I want, especially after seeing how well the wok works on it. Your dinner looked delicious :)

I have a friend in Southern Italy who drives a large van, this time of year she puts a sheet of plywood behind the front seats, it only has front seats, and fills the back of it floor to ceiling with tomatoes then spends days making and bottling sauce. They have their own olive trees and the olives are pressed at the co-op the years supply is in cans like milk cans 4 feet high. The peppers are sweet I think they would be great in tempura batter.

It is amazing how much heat it will produce with such a small amount of fuel. I'm still learning with it though only used it a few times for some reason it didn't burn very well in the middle of this video I think the wood might have been wet.

Thank you. Yes it is called a rocket stove and a lot of fun to use. The Shishito seed came to me via a complicated route a subscriber who is English but lives in Germany sent them to me and he got his from a Japanese neighbour who brought the seed with him when he immigrated to Germany.

a rocket stove build is on my soon "to do" list, but first have to get my Dremel refurbished. also have a very strange wok that I've never used. Might make a vid of it to learn how to use the 'extra' parts that came w/it. Dinner looks great!

Thank you it was a good meal. I've only used the rocket stove a few times but I must say I really enjoy it. I lost some of the heat half way through cooking these peppers either the wood was a little wet or I put too much wood in at once, it is still in the learning process stage. I want to try these same peppers in a tempura batter so I'm sure there will be another video soon.

I just put it on my bathroom scales at it weighed 17 pounds. The sides and bottom are lined with a special kind on cement which has a lot of air in it, on the company website they have a video of the cement floating on water.

Had to google that Gary, Potjie Pot was new to me. Looks like something I could use on the wood stove in the cabin too. I think I just might order one. The wood stove that I bought doesn't have an oven but I bet I could do baked beans in a Potjie. Shishitos are a sweet pepper I think they will be excellent in a tempura batter, a new video maybe LOL.

Yes I wouldn't use my best cookware on it that's for sure. If you wait until it is really working like a rocket there is far less soot as it is all being burnt also I think cast iron works best and is easier to clean.

Another youtuber said to always start your kindling on top of the wood to be burn because immediately the smoky gases given off by the wood underneath are burned in the top of the fire.

I think the last thing you said was you roasted peppers. Can things be roasted on a stick on your rocket stove? Some day when you have time would you make a video on "how you made your rocket stove". Yours looks so neat and the paint makes it look so nice. Most of them I have seen are all burnt & scorched on the sides. My Dad was such a large (small man tho) factor in my life that I am a girl that can do lots of things a guy does. The only thing, 2 things, I don't have the muscle for a lot of the projects I take on & I don't have a nice array of adequate tools. Both are major handicaps, but still I try. See, if you had not made this video, I never would have seen a rocket stove I would like to have! Thanks always your fan LOL Judie

Thank you. I love fish of all kinds but haddock is certainly the preferred fish around here the seafood restaurants might as well close their doors if they didn't have haddock. Local people won't eat cod because cod in this area has a lot of worms in it, unlike the cod from Newfoundland. The only fish I refuse to eat is Atlantic Salmon it is all farmed and full of chemicals and antibiotics even dye to turn the flesh pink.
