Fun fact, Studio Wildcard patched Ark: Survival Ascended earlier this year to make female characters look more masculine (like giving them larger torsos, smaller chests and smaller butts). The backlash was so harsh, they undid the patch. Oh, and guess who was at the forefront of the backlash? Female content creators who were upset that their characters were now all screwed up. May this be a lesson for all publishers, female players want to play as beautiful women too.

The change of the game through patches is illegal. It is false advertisment, you and your customer enclosed deal by purchise - every purchase is basically closing the contract and if one side is decieved it is eligible to back down. If the value is ruined and you will not get your money back - you can sue. So Bioware would be definetelly get sued in class action lawsuit. Also the ND game story is so dull and boring it might be real work of Druckmann.

Unfortunately, it's probably not easy to prove in court that injection of woke content via dlc (or worse: patches) ruins a game, because there are no objective criteria to decide what does belong in a game and what doesn't. That said, if they really pull that stunt, they do it exactly once, and then they are history. To force "THE MESSAGE" into a game long after release, when customers can't refund anymore, would destroy the reputation of the company forever. Imagine the outrage when after an unsuspicious Steam download the main characters of your fantasy game suddenly lecture you in gender studies...
