*IMPORTANT CORRECTION*: The trailer incorrectly implies that Keira is suggesting puberty blockers gave her a low voice and facial hair. This was actually the cross-sex hormones. She does believe however that puberty blockers are also not reversible. I apologise to Keira (who is so lovely and hasn't said anything to me) for this misunderstanding. Its kinda terrifying to think about. I am bought to you by cat fluff, dustbin and Vans. My friends are all blokes....nowadays I'd be transed out. I'm perfectly happy with being a woman - and part of "Sex Matters" because we have the right to say NO with no explanation needed - and have always been a trans ally. Until now. I don't care how people present; wear yer frock n shut yer gob but these tosspots are fixing gender norms, not subverting them. This is one brave lady with great insight. Its diabolical that she wasn't allowed to just grow up and be.

Being a heterosexual teen girl in the 90s, I was nervous about the world, anxious, confused about my body, and unsettled by sexual attention...and as a result I had a shaved head, wore combat boots, unnattractive clothes, wallet chains, and spiked bracelets. That superficial tough armor got me to my 20s when my head stopped spinning and I got grounded. If I was presented with the idea that I could turn into a "boy"...I probably would have been all over it. This "option" just simply absolutely should not exist. The rage I feel for these young women and men...it just makes me gag.

I wish my mom would've transitioned me but I was supposed to go through what I went to so that I can teach younger transkids and let them know that they are supposed to go through childhood. It's a learning experience. So if any kids are thinking about transitioning, don't. Just go to therapy until the age of 25 and then ask yourself if you want to transition.

Exactly. I'm not a fan of religions in general. But sex-independent "gender" is very clearly the WORST, most harmful, most authoritrian religion. Even Islam, the main rival for the "worst religion" prize (and still a TERRIBLE ideology), isn't built in a foundational belief in mutilating healthy bodies, and doesn't go AS far as transgenderism, in demanding control of the speech of non-believers, and re-defining basic, everyday language, in the name of evidence-free, faith-based religious beliefs.

I empathise with you here, I was 44 when I started menopause symptoms and have to agree with you it's not a picnic at all, the mood swings the anxiety are horrendous so god knows how an adolescent already in a vulnerable place could cope with this on top, not to mention the physical implications of a premature menopause. It should be illegal, I firmly believe this, these young people are being sold a fantasy that doesn't exist.

It's crazy how many people still believe "fully safe and reversible". Literally NO DRUG is "fully safe and reversible"- But hormone blockers like Lupton are some of THE most irreversibly harmful drugs, with the most severely harmful side effects. Even before Lupton had any connection with "trans" issues,in the late 80s/90s, when it was just used as drug for full grown men, suffering prostate cancer, there was a serious campaign to ban the drug, because of its insane rates of severe side-effects, which were unjustified, even for full-grown men, with (actual, literal) LIFE-THREATENING CANCER ... ...yet now they say it's so """"safe and reversible""" to be justified for CHILDREN in 100% perfect physical health, with no evidence-based medical issues, at all.

Hi, I wanted to be a man for 25 years. I didn’t dislike myself. I had a huge disgust at other girls and women. Being bullied at school and in the workplace by women any girls whereas men were always amazing to me, women were getting their kit off all the time to be famous but men used their brains and personality and abilities, my mother was a violent bully, my sister and I were violent to each other, I grew up around the sec industry where women were used by men and women for their bodies, my classmates got pregnant at 14 and 15, I intervened when I saw women beaten by their man in the street and the woman said she was ok and went off with the man who had just broken her nose… women disgusted me. I saw their traits and I saw men’s traits and I saw I had much more in common with men and more interests in common with men than women. Being bisexual didn’t affect my thinking at all. It was the disgust at women’s behaviour and how they hated me. I went to live in Belgium where every woman is highly educated and speaks multiple languages and they all saw me as a normal woman and there was no issue in how we related to each other. That was when I lost the gender identity disorder as we called it back then. Please tell your niece that gender is not written in stone at all. Almost all my friends have stopped cross dressing and stopped having gender dysphoria. One guy is now a father, I got married to a man who is my best friend and we laugh so much, another woman is happy as a bi woman with a boyfriend, and my friends who detransitioned medically 20+ years ago are both “normal” looking men with wives but they have auto immune conditions that are quite painful and caused by the cross sex hormones. A lot of people with gender issues have been abused. I was physically abused by my parents as were other females with gender issues. There are reasons why little girls want to be big strong men. So please do talk to your niece and let her know my story, that mine is not unique at all and the gender issues do disappear if you take yourself out of the toxic environment. It might not be toxic to other people but they are to us because our personalities are affected by things that don’t affect other people. There are other places to live and there are other options such as therapy and just changing the people we hang out with and changing the ways we think. Please speak to your niece about the issues I have raised. And yes, women will not want to date her if she continues. She will find life much more difficult if she continues. Please talk to her with all the stories you will get from other de trans etc people. 💜

The horror of it is that transcultists use that term without realizing the truth of what you said, or rather fully believing it’s not even something you would WANT to reverse. “Crack your egg, bro, and all the male glances will go away”, when the truth is that by and large men aren’t actively seeking to harm women even if they leer.

I was given Lupron, which is now called "puberty blockers" as an adult for Endometriosis. The side effects were so bad i can't imagine given that to children. It's distroyed my teeth, even a decade later I have crumbling teeth, and jawbones that aren't strong enough for implants In the middle of having all my top teeth removed, and some of the bottom teeth too. Puberty blockers are terrible gor everyone. The GNrH agonists will, without doubt shorten these kids lives

What a wonderful, smart person. A joy to hear her speak; and feel sad about what has happened to you, Keira. My best friend, when I was 6-8, was a tomboy-ish girl that loved football, and would run most of us boys around the pitch at that age. Gutted when she moved away. Very often, the adults in the room aren't that smart, just driven by their career obligations; and there are some very nasty people in the world rn, that have too much influence, too self-centred, but no heart.

As a gay woman it's still so strange to me that being T would seem like a better or easier option than being L. I understand homophobia is still rampant but I can't imagine a long term medical path would seem better to any sound minded person. Clearly the mistakes made by these young people have proven just how unsound of mind they are. All aspects of the medical path should only be available after the frontal lobe has matured at 25. After that do as you please.

My own Subjective Self-evaluation Report pre-puberty would’ve definitely been that I felt like a boy. Any adult or peer would’ve validated my own beliefs supporting MY CHOICE had that been an option on the table when I was growing up. Because: I only played with boys and identified as a Tom-Boy and was always chosen within the first three children to be in the boys football team, and because I fought at lunchtime with a chosen child chosen by the other children, everyone would have agreed that I identified as a male. Then as puberty hit, I was horrified when I began to grow breasts and I hated them. I also hated that my weakness was apparent when I suffered period pains for the whole day each month. Around age 17 I embraced my femininity and flaunted my Laura Ashley dresses as well as my cut off denim shorts and skimpy vests and plenty of jewelry. After puberty I remained interested in things normally considered “masculine pursuits” and even followed into male dominated careers. Firstly I worked on farms and then as a painter and decorator for 16 years. Then I became a Semi-Truck driver for a further 30 years. However, I still continued to embrace my femininity in both these roles. To conclude I want to say that I am very grateful these options were Not available to me as a child or a young person because I would quickly have worked out that there were only four steps I needed to go through to “achieve my goal and transition” I have loved being a woman working in a man’s world.

I remember a cubby little lad a few years younger than me back in school. (Late 90's) Super effeminate little dude, only hung out with and was fully accepted into the girls in his year group. All the adults would quietly smile and talk about how "He'll figure it out (that he's gay) one day". Grew up into a happy and well put together young gay man. God forbid if that was today.

One surefire way of stopping this in its tracks is to stop providing it 'free' courtesy of the taxpayer. If parents had to cough up or someone had to work to save up for it, you can bet they would be thinking long and hard about spending their own cash; this would also stop the NHS (paid for by taxpayers) being sued if they don't provide it, and then being sued when they do and it goes wrong.

I think she's amazing: well done, Keira. At my previous job I saw immediately (2020) that absolutely everyone was signing their emails with their pronouns under their name. Being utterly naive about this movement, I assumed there must be loads of trans / gay people working there. But I eventually realised there were NONE! It was pure ideology. Without saying anything I quietly refused to do it. And after 13 months I was kicked out for being "misogynistic" - which 100% I am not! They didn't even have any proof to back up the claim. This is wokeness gone mad. An incorrect ideology.

What I will say as a gay man is that ftm trans people absolutely do not "pass". There's a growing number of heterosexual young women who are now transitioning because of internalised misogyny and also I belive a level of homophobia where they are almost kind of fetishisising gay men. Real life isn't a tumblr fan fiction or an episode of heartstopper. We are real people and a straight female cannot understand what being a gay male is like just as a gay man can never understand being female. Nobody chooses to be gay and no biological male in our society ever wants to be gay. We just have to accept what we are even if we didn't choose it and didn't want it rather than pretend to be something we decided we want to be but simply aren't. The number of FTM trans people in gay spaces now expecting gay men to be interested almost outstrips actual gay men especially in younger age groups. What's most irritating about it is this is it's clearly homophobic but somehow it's gay men that are supposed to be the homophobic ones against a straight female simply for saying no or asking for their sexuality to be respected. We now have to excuse being gay under a technicality in trans ideology where we can claim homosexuality is just some kind of "preference". No thank you.
@Anonyma80
@Anonyma80 15 сағат бұрын
I noticed that a lot too. There are two main groups in FTM The women who have problems going through the world as masculine/butch lesbians and don't want to be seen as ugly or treated in a derogatory way Or the fetishizing of gay men by straight women who would rather be a beautiful gay man and be admired

This is really insightful, and heartfelt, so thank you. Especially regarding your reference to the kind of fanfic where the male characters are kind of asexual or "gay-ish" but still romantic towards girl characters. For many young women, I think gay men represent a kind of "safe" boyfriend material - when girls/women are not really ready for the physical side of romantic relationships (and associated risks of harm/pregnancy) but are drawn to masculine energy and appearance. This maybe goes double for young women who are a bit less mature emotionally or who have suffered trauma at the hands of men. So I don't think it's homophobia as such, i.e. it's not really about the men, but of course it's really unfair/harmful because gay men are actual people not props in someone's self-delusion or working-through of their emotional issues. They deserve their own spaces, their own sexual and romantic lives which (obviously) don't include women! Fine to imagine that you can "turn" your fave gay anime character or whatever (I'm an old lady, can you tell) but real people shouldn't have to justify their romantic preferences - we all have those. The issue of male "lesbians" in female-only dating spaces is of course one of safety as well.
@adris432

Who is forcing gay men to date trans men or calling them transphobic for not wanting to sleep with them/date them...This opinion is absolutely not in the majority. I've NEVER heard it from an actual trans person irl...plenty of times from people who spread what "trans people surely think", though. And no, people don't go through all the risks and difficulties involved with transitioning (social and medical) because they fetishize gay men. That's ridiculous. (Has it EVER happened? Sure, maybe...but you can find a fluke or extreme for anything in the world). Trans men transition...and if they are attracted to men, well, sure, they hope to find love with one....what else are they supposed to do? Spend their lives alone just because somebody thinks they transitioned for fetish?
@tela1653
@tela1653 11 сағат бұрын
Well said!!! Being a truly gay man or woman is something entirely different to thinking you have been born into the wrong body and being really unhappy about it (which is often a symptom of other underlying mental health issues and/or a fase in someones life). Statistics show that transitioned boys or girls are not happier once transitioned. In fact it is the opposite. No surprise because the underlying issues don't resolve themselves just because one has taken on another gender and on top of that there are the horrible effects of taking hormones to deal with. Imagine going through menopause as a youngster, especially the mental issues menopause brings with it, although the physical issues are awful too.

What a fantastic interview. As someone who had what we called Gender Identity Disorder back in the 90s, and I had it for 25 years, just a couple of things to pick up on. I went to my religion as a Christian with GID and same sex attraction. I was in a fantastic organisation for lgbt Christians who had all the data on lgb and T going back to the 1950s. Keira said her father was Christian and that made her internalised homophobia grow. As with Ritchie, Keira’s research into all things trans did not reach to the data going back to the 1950s that showed that most people with GID desist, and that abuse occurs in the childhood of almost all people presenting with GID, especially sexual abuse. GID is a reaction to abuse and other adverse childhood events. The LGB Alliance say that all these “trans teens” are actually LGB teens and the transition is transing away the gay. So all these teens are actually LGB. But the LGB Alliance then do not recognise that all these LGB teens are survivors of abuse or other adverse childhood events. The official figures I have found for sexual abuse among lesbian or bisexual girls is 42% and it is 25% for straight girls, and 20% for gay or bi boys and 12.5% for straight boys. But I know lgbt grassroots workers who say almost every gay woman or gay man was sexually abused in childhood. I was physically abused by my parents and severely bullied by girls in school, then shunned socially by women and bullied by women in the workplace. I had no good female role models or friendships. I saw women as victims and so many women today want to be seen as victims, in the 90s women could not do anything without taking their clothes off and I saw women as strippers and prostitutes in my town, my friends got pregnant at 14 and 15 and I just looked at women with disgust. My dad hit me a lot but at least he was fun. I always found my mother boring. With my dad I built walls and fixed car radios and played football. Men were kind to me, men saw me as an equal, men used their brains and did stuff with their clothes on. I identified more with men’s personality traits and I could not identify with women at all. Women disgusted me. So I figured I wasn’t a man but I certainly was not a woman. It was going to my religion that eventually fixed all my problems. It took years. It took moving to another country where other women were highly educated and multi lingual and not bitchy. I was just another normal woman in Belgium. That is what healed me. I was just another normal woman like all the others. I really wish people would do a full research into trans before they choose to transition. If Keira had looked into her father’s religion, she would have found the organisation that supported me and several others who had gender issues and really helped us. Two guys who detransitioned medically 20+ years ago were there for me. They were always at the end of an email for me if I was triggered and finding it difficult to cope. People see Christianity as so restrictive and nasty. It is the opposite. And on issues like gender, Christian organisations have been supporting people for over 50 years. Yes, there are some nasty types out there who claim to be Christian. The reality is there are some amazing people out there who will stick by you until you have recovered and can go it alone. My blog is all about genuine lgbt issues from both research papers and my own lived experience. I also have a sense of humour. It helps. Feel free to pass it on to anyone who may benefit from it. catherinehume.wordpress.com/

I am so sorry for Keira. She has been strong and brave to discuss this publicly and I thank her for it. Andrew, thank you for conducting such a Frank and honest interview. You asked the questions that are important to know for anyone to form their own opinions about.

Keira's story was the first time I had actually realised that someone could regret their 'transition.' I first heard about her from a psychologist in France who was involved in transitioner regret. I'm so sorry (as I am for anyone in her situation) that the medical profession failed her so dreadfully. She seems to be an extremely intelligent woman, well-spoken, coherent. I'm glad she's looking forward and not back. Heartfelt good wishes to Keira.

I was such a tomboy and even now in my 40’s I have days were I’m a bit tomboyish and days when I’m really girly. If I grew up nowadays my school would probably try and push me into being Trans cause they are doing it to my daughter, that’s why I tell her to just say she’s non binary so they leave her alone, it’s the woke councillor and the teachers with bright hair. There’s a reason why in nature animals stay away from creatures with bright colours, they know it’s poisonous and spu toxic.

What is with millennial parents and wanting a quick fix for everything? Letting your child try to change their biology is insane.
