A submarine from OceanGate Expeditions headed for the wreck site of the Titanic on Sunday, June 18th. However, within a few hours, the company lost contact with the submarine and has not heard from the submarine or its passengers since then. Search and rescue efforts are underway and the clock is ticking since the capsule only has 96 hours of oxygen for the crew. The passengers had to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for this trip and leftists on the internet are having a field day mocking the wealthy passengers on board.

Now knowing how the submersible imploded, it honestly fills me with relief. Those people died instantly after about an hour, and probably experienced little pain, whether mental OR physical, before death. The unfortunate reality of this is that there is nothing saying they died instantly. Being crushed against other human bodies and drowning at the same time isn't something I can see being instant. Not to mention the time they were down there with no power in a cramped up space losing air. I just can't imagine that father and son! The thought of knowing that your 19 year old son was going to die and you couldn't do ANYTHING to save him just wrenches my gut. I don't care how much money you have... Nobody should have to watch their child die. I feel horrible for all of them, but as a mother, the father/son pair has hit me the hardest. 🤦 obviously you don't understand what happens in a catastrophic implosion. Let me help you out so that you don't feel bad although it's not going to make you feel good. When there was a failure in the vessel, doesn't matter where. When it lost integrity, in less than 1sec, something like 20+ million tons crushed them, pulverized them and squirt them out like toothpaste or chez wiz out of the failure point. It wasn't dramatic like movie. There was no time for them to look at each other's eyes and know their imminent demise. There was no crying, no pain (is it takes more than a millisecond for your brain to even register pain and if your brain doesn't exist in that millisecond, you're good.) No fear, no regrets. It would be like you hugging a nuclear bomb as it blew up. There won't be any recovery because there's nothing to recover. They are but silly string squirt out and spread into the sea. 😳 It's literally The Circle of Life Simba...🤷
@mattmadden2501

They would have been dead literally in an instant. They wouldn't have even known they were in trouble. implosion at those pressures happens at hypersonic speeds. They were dead before their brains could even register what was happening. As far as dying it's probably one of the best ways to go. Only quicker death I could think of would be spooning with a nuclear bomb when it detonates.

@@bsrcat1 actually, at the time I wrote that, they were saying that it could have malfunctioned and be bobbing somewhere with them trapped inside (considering it was bolted shut from the outside). The part that Brett didn’t touch on which I think is really important to the whole story is that the pilot of the sub was the owner of the company. He was shady businessman to say the least. He fired their chief safety engineer for pointing out that the vessel was not rated for the depth that they wanted to take it to. Defrauded potential customers out of several hundred thousand dollars. And to top it all off, avoided having the vessel undergo rigorous safety checks which is the standard for any deep sea submersible for the sake of “not hindering innovation.” Sounds to me like the guy just wanted a quick buck and wanted to cut corners to make as much as possible off of his customers. For his complete disregard of safety for other human lives, he deserves to be at the bottom of the ocean. It’s just unfortunate that everyone else on board the vessel had to suffer the same fate.

But he was a terrible person. He literally murdered his passengers through deliberate neglect: The viewport at the forward of the submersible was only built to a certified pressure of 1,300 meters, although OceanGate intended to take passengers down to depths of 4,000 meters. Lochridge learned that the viewport manufacturer would only certify to a depth of 1,300 meters due to experimental design of the viewport supplied by OceanGate, which was out of the Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy ("PVHO") standards." So they weren't x-raying or checking for structural fatigue after dices, the window is only good to 1500 m, and they ignored safety protocols... And didn't disclose this to potential passengers.

They had redundant systems to return to the surface, but they didn't seem to use them, so my guess is a hull breach. At least they died instantly. If they were sitting on the bottom, only the US Navy would have the tiniest chance of locating them and that is if they would be willing to redeploy assets and they could get there in time. May they rest in pieces as they float throughout the ocean, Feeding fishes with their wishes, yes they caused quite the commotion. Tried to travel down great depths with a tincan in the ocean Yes they died of an implosion. Used a cheap logitech, to steer their little sub Would have been better playing pretend, at home in their tubs Cheaping out on their windows, the pressure was too much. All these billionaire plans, think we've had quite enough. Maybe next time they try this, they won't skimp out on parts Think people would safer if they sticked to arts and crafts. Yeah they paid 250k, guess that wasnt quite enough Ocean gate forgot to tell them, it was just a one way pass Their adventure has now ended, yeah i hope it was enough. They didn't get to see it, but titanic kicked their ass Thought they were lost in the ocean, but they had already passed 5 lives have been lost, but atleast they died real fast. Rich or not they are still people. People who are loved and cherished by others and this is heartbreaking. I wish peace for them and their families.
