Great song. I hadn’t been that big a fan up until the time it came out. But I bought the CD after hearing it and ended up giving them their due. I like how Rick Nielsen seems to be getting a kick out of playing the same stage where the Beatles played in February 1964.

I remember taping this on David Letterman. I also have recorded many other Cheap Trick live performances over the last 20 years. Thank goodness I transferred them to DVD! Obviously I am a huge CT fan. We have seen them at least 20 times in the last 20 years live! Love 'em!

3 weeks later, and this is STILL! My favorite KZbin Video.....Cheap Trick in their PRIME! Not too young, but not too old! (their years of playing live and musical experience really shows in this vid) Awesome Stuff Here! Have it posted on my Facebook and even grabbed the video to my hard drive. Just wish it was in higher definition.

Cheap Trick did invent grunge back in 1977. Listen to their first album. Kurt cobain is a spitting image in looks of Robin Zander and mannerism. Robin has a better voice. Range all over the place!!! He can hit all the notes.

Cheap Trick are one of the greatest rock bands ever in my opinion. Their rhythm section is elite and the greatest singer in rock. Rick may not be a virtuoso guitarist, but he writes excellent power pop songs and plays them well. Now if they could just get Bun E back...

This "Live" version sounds better than the studio version. Look at the passion in Zander's face. You see this in almost every video e.g. "Best Friend" watch?v=9E434yEh_Ro I also love the vocal range with the ability to change his voice. Good evidence of this can be found on the album "SPECIAL ONE" Now compare that to all the hoopla you get with dancing acts like David Lee Roth (not that VH are bad). This is true rock and it's outlived most rock bands to this day! LONG LIVE CHEAP TRICK

I can't understand why people think they are "trying" to sound grunge? Have you people heard their stuff from the 70's? Sure, they went a different direction for a while, but fuck, they may as well have invented grunge. I dunno, maybe I don't know what the hell I am talking about. All I know is that I have been listening to their 70's stuff since, well, the 70's and when the grunge bands got big in the 90's I thought that they all sounded a lot like early Cheap Trick.

Something I've never understood...they sign a new deal with Warner Bros. who have them shoot a video and make various talk show performances but release THIS as the first single. I love the song but they needed a hit and this was the absolute wrong choice. "Tell Me Everything" should have been the first single, followed by "You're All I Wanna Do", and then "Woke Up With a Monster". They're the greatest rock band in the world and to think they got dropped from a record label after one record is beyond depressing. Then in 1997 they make an album that can actually stand up next to any of the classics and the record label goes bankrupt and no one hears it. I fucking hate it. I fucking HATE that they aren't the biggest band in the world.

@iflyc77 It sounds that good because Letterman's band is playing with them. It probably would have sounded OK with just CT themselves, but with 2 extra guitars, an extra drummer, keys and horns it sounds huge.

That's cool, you have an album. This song, a single, is obviously an effort to tap into that genre and reintroduce Cheap Trick to the charts. And also, I hate to break it to you but nobody over the age of 12 will take any of your opinions seriously if you use the word "fail" in that way. Sorry. :(
