First time in 40 plus years as a believer that I've heard that "him who is to be feared" is Satan. So much evangelical teaching says it refers to God the Father. But your explanation makes so much more sense. Thank you!

I’m glad he addressed “the fear of the Lord”. That’s was my only hang up with this line of thought. Throughout scripture it says “fear not” 365 times so this is a new way of looking at scripture. We must be cautious when rethinking scripture but this seems to check the boxes of healthy doctrine for me! Thanks BZ

I think the ‘fear not’ is more addressing us when we are going Gods way when it hurts. But ‘fear satan’ when you are tempted to TRUST the lies he tells you and do them! Cos he IS the liar and the father of all lies. Run from him!
