I feel like this song is saying if you want something to happen, just go for it and dont be scared. Tell that person you like them, start a conversation with someone you find cute, ask someone out for a drink, because if you overthink it and wait too much that opportunity might be gone and you will miss out on so much that could've happened. Like the title says, dont delete them kisses at the end of the message or spend ages writing out something to just delete it, send that risky text! Because in the end whats there to lose, you'll probably find the other person feels the same :)
@rikkihill226 жыл бұрын
Not just romantically either, even if you just tell someone their shoes are cool that's a rewarding experience for both you and them. Just take those little chances in life, the worst you can do is make someone feel good about themselves. If you don't find your lover you'll probably find a friend 😊

For sure. My ex just ended our marriage through a what's app message. Its kinda crazy how we think we knew someone and then...uou, what is it? But life goes on. He met someone else. He wasn't nice with me and he was irresponsable as fuck, but there's nothing left to do, right? I'm glad he's gone. I'm hurt, of course and I don't even want him to feel bad, I don't need that. The initial excitement, the slow turn into arguing, the rebound of having fun and toned down affection from before and the happy ending, holding each other in their arms. I've been there, and that's how relationships are. You'll have downs occasionally, but the ups, attention and affection make up for it. This song is beautiful.

@krashd6 жыл бұрын
No relationship is smooth running at all times, you are letting another person share your life with you and you will fall foul of one another from time to time, the trick is to appreciate the whole, to know that the person you are arguing with is still the same person you are smitten with at other times. Relationships often break up because people run into a rough patch and then enjoy the feeling of laughing with someone else, that idea of "the grass is always greener on the other side". It's not. You only realise what you had when you've already thrown it away. You don't deserve the sweet if you can't handle the sour...

It's refreshing to see people talk about love so optimistically on this video instead of brooding, wondering why we even have feelings at all
@TheSpazz8887 жыл бұрын
I think after watching the video many times that the very beginning and at the very ending our two lovers are strangers. At the very end he abruptly gets up and leaves and she sits there is if she just doesn't know him. That's why I think everything in between was all imagined. The video is about the relationship the two could've had Or would have had if they just would have said hello at the very beginning and gotten to know each other and let the friendship grow into lovers. Just my idea of what the video is about. Definitely my favorite Wolf Alice song and video

TheSpazz888 This video is very interpretive about the heroine's current situation, but it is clear that she is hopelessly romantic and is yearning a relationship. To me, I thought that the video showed the inner thoughts of the heroine, making a cohesive story about her memories with her friends, particularly that one guy who she feels she could have a romantic relationship; her thoughts are, however, mixed with self-doubt and cherophobia, which at first, I thought manifested into a lover's quarrel scene/memory, but it became clear that's likely her becoming aware of her own fantasies. She shuns the guy of her dreams in her fantasy, but also shuns herself from truly trying or discovering anything about any possibility of a relationship. She does, however, give her fantasy-self a positive ending by finally having the heroine face him and, organically, make him a part of her life, shown in the way she and her group of friends are all simply enjoying each other's company, which in turn makes the two lover's become comfortable with one another. Of course, when the train makes it to one of its destinations, the heroine ends her dreams with the two of them together. In reality, she had done none of those and she and the guy remain friends, and the opportunity is gone, at least for that time being. I quote like how the whole "fantasy romance" scenes are happening inside the train. The mundane transportation that she and her friends always use becomes a setting for her fantasies, transporting her to a braver and romantic character, where she expresses herself fully, with him about her doubts, her true feelings, etc. The train setting is also cinematographically moving, literally and figuratively, regarding the dual but oxymoronic story of the heroine: in reality, she's bored, most of her friends may have already left the train before the music video even started, save for her crush who sleeps next to her, tired and won't definitely give her attention; when the train moves, that's when her fantasies start, which at this moment, she stares outside the train windows, looking at the blur of uninteresting places, people, etc. So she sinks into a blur of her own fantasies, which is more than interesting, if not crucial to who she is deep down, and what she could possibly do with these thoughts. So amazing music video, all in all. Sorry, TLDR. This is the first time I've seen and heard this band. Checking them out now!!!
@TheSpazz8887 жыл бұрын

@IntoTheUnknownBlue7 жыл бұрын
That's definitely an interesting way to interpret the video. The fact that the woman is on her own both at the beginning and end could also point to the ways in which people can begin and end relationships as strangers. They meet as strangers, fall in love, fall out of love, and often fall apart, only to become strangers again. It may not necessarily be pure fantasy on the protagonist's part. Just a thought :)

I used to be afraid of embarrassing myself but I think that's part of it. Part of finding the right person that meshes well with you is someone that likes you at every moment, not just the ones when you're funny and inquisitive but all those awkward or bent out of shape moments. When you cry, get angry, or even get quiet when everything around you is loud. When you can barely verbalize a sentence because of how emotionally distraught you are and yet that person doesn't hesitate to stand by you. Love is like a burnt piece of toast with honey and butter on it. It's sweet and amazing but sometimes it can be tart and even extremely bitter. But it's worth it entirely.

i watched this music video and fell in love with this song a couple of years ago but never showed it to anyone because it felt like my little secret. last week, i was on the LIRR coming back from a concert at about 2 in the morning, and the train carts were filled with twenty-something-year-olds coming back from their nights out. filled with couples holding each other and falling alseep on each other and just talking and laughing even though everyone was a little bit exhausted. it really reminded me of this video, so i came back here to watch it. i hope i fall in love like this one day and that no matter what happens, i can get somebody to hold and ride the train with.

This video is a perfect presentation that a relationships is build by two individuals. There is no sign of dominance in one of the scenes and that makes it authentic and really beautiful. And I really feel the part of the lyrics saying ''what if it is not meant for me'', it probably isn't for me but to become a good and happy individual is more than enough.

I keep coming back to this video and each time, without doubt, it reconfirms itself as the best music video I've ever seen. The production is faultless (and difficult to achieve on London transport), the cinematography is superb and the acting so believable - the couple do appear to be genuinely in love (perhaps they were. I'd like to think so). It's both uplifting and yet sad. What might be. What is. What was. It reaches out to those lucky enough to know this feeling, and to those unlucky not to. All in four and a half minutes of visual brilliance. Great song. Great band. Wonderful video.

Years ago I was in a heavy period of despondency where I could hardly bear to look anyone in the eyes and thought I never wanted to be in a relationship again. I was rarely happy, but found comfort in a nightly ritual I had of listening to music in the dark before bed, and one of those nights this song played on my phone and my heart was immediately caught in the magic of the intro. Then the lyrics of the first verse, one after the other, aligned perfectly with my own life and I was shocked at the level of connection I felt with this song. It gave me hope for future love. It took a couple of years but last Friday I got into a relationship with the most amazing person. I couldn't be happier. While listening to music last night, this song came on my shuffled playlist and now my life finds itself residing in the second verse. Every statement rang completely true. The personal alignment of this song and the beauty of its production makes it so so special to me. Thank you for a lovely piece of music

I suggested this song to a guy I used to like for around a year ago. Suggesting songs had been our form of communication, and we've spent the whole year being that one chapter in anyone's life that'll remain a memory forever. He was the plot twist of my college life, and his mere existence brought me back to life. Everyday was an adventure, he made my heart warm, he made me feel like home. Listening to this song makes me remember everything. From the car rides, to talking until midnight. We remain as friends to this day, and as sad as it may seem, but he made my life reach one of its best heights. Sometimes I think that we were meant to be in love, like for a lifetime. But I guess sometimes, life gives us a glimpse of eternity. Just a glimpse.

Me and this guy were so in love but he had to leave China for America. We felt like we were too young to be limiting each other with such a relationship since we were both broke and had a career to build so we decided to break up. On the last day we were on the subway to the airport in Shanghai, it was so sad so we put on music and this song came along starting with “what if it’s not meant for me, love” and ending with “me and you were meant to be in love”. He was sobbing like a child in my arm and everyone on the train was just staring at us while I kept telling him we’ll be okay. It’s quite cheesy talking about it. I always loved this song but now it is forever engraved in my memory with that moment.
