Well.... this setup he uses now isn't really indicative of his original tone, it's all profiles , or amp models if you like, of his real tube amps into the Kemper. He was always a Marshall guy, with OD/Distortion pedals goosing the front end back in the old days.Certainly he's experimented w/other amps/preamps over the years, I'm not saying I know everything about his sound or setup. I read he moved on to EVH 5150 III's later on, and when I last saw him he had an ENGL Blackmore head on a Marshall 4x12, with a Wizard head sitting on top of it, both were turned on but I don't know which he was playing through.....this setup was on the side near the lip of the stage. However back by the drums, on top of another Marshall cab was a rack & top of that was a Kemper profiler....so honestly who knows what he was playing through but it was that sharp, tight, grinding guitar sound only he can get.I think he's done a ton of experimentation over the years, and has finally arrived at this simple setup, where anything he wants is in the Kemper & easily accessible by the foot controller. I know this is super long winded, but the point is, this modern setup isn't what he always used & not how he originally achieved his tone.

Very awesome, Wolf. I saw Accept, in concert on their Balls to the Wall tour in the 80’s and got their autographs before the show. Got to meet them at their hotel parking lot when they got off the tour bus. Very cool group of guys. Wolf is on my top 10 list of G.O.A.T. guitarists.

Dank diesem Internetz kann man ja heutzutage viel mehr in Erfahrung bringen, und Herr Hoffmann hat mich kürzlich mal interessiert, hat er doch mein wählerisches Ohr in den 80ern erreicht - immer speziell im Sound ( da war echt "metall" drin ) - nie nervend, und melodisch. Das Kemper Zeugs habe ich nie verstanden. Braucht man nicht noch ne Endstufe um das Signal zu verstärken 🤷 normalerweise wird Kemper doch "nur" genutzt als Multifunktion Pedal vor ein Amp.

Er hat keine Lautsprecher auf der Bühne, es geht direkt zur PA-Anlage und jeder in der Band hört sich selbst über In-Ear-Monitore. Es ist ein fantastisches System, das Musikern dabei hilft, sich selbst besser zu hören, und in vielen Fällen auch einen besseren Klang für das Publikum liefert, da es auf der Bühne weniger Lärm gibt als bei alten lauten Verstärkern, die nur großen Schlamm verursachen.
