Wolf Spider Series #2

Identifying the babies and getting them ready for transplant into the woods. I have come up with the way to move the babies into the woods.
They are leaving the mothers back in DROVES and out into the enclosure. Once they figure out how to walk up the sides, I cap them with a clean pill bottle and move one at a time into this water container. Once on the water, I can identify male or female and also size, then they will walk onto the tip of a pencil and back into the pill bottle they go.
Then I take the pill bottle out to the woods and mark the area where each one is released. Most of these will not survive unfortunately, but this is why the mother makes so many. Here is a short video of one of the female babies. I free handled her. She just walked around on my finger and then web jumped back into the water container.
The venom isn't ready for primetime just yet. Also, the fangs aren't solid.
I only moved 5 of them today. I don't expect to see them again, but just in case they stay in place, I have the markers to go back and look for Wolf Spider evidence!!! EXCITING.
