Wolfs are born in the spring: in late April - early May. Wolf-cubs in the brood are usually 3-8, less often 10. Wolf-cubs are born covered with brown, soft hair, blind and deaf.
Wolfs begin to see and hear only on the 9-12th day. And ten days later, they set off on their first short journeys from the den.
A she-wolf feeds them with milk for about a month and a half, but the cubs will receive meat earlier. The wolf father brings it by swallowing, and then burps the semi-digested mass that both the wolf cubs and their mother feed on. Both parents begin to hunt later. Often they bring into the lair still living prey, which young wolf cubs learn to kill themselves.
Wolves leave the den and begin their nomadic life 4-5 months after the birth of the wolf cub, by September. At the beginning of winter, wolf cubs can already lead an independent lifestyle.
