Seven Kings Back in 2011 I remember B.J was just a U.S Army Ranger Spy working for the OSA, The One Man Strike Team is what they call him on the Wiki. Return to Castle Wolfenstein was the best Wolfenstein game I have ever played, If only more players played the multiplayer today...

Nightlife Vegas I remember that too. Also in return to castle Wolfenstein BJ never spoke once (apart from the ps2 version). Now he has a massive back story and a very interesting personality. Could never have imagined him becoming what he is today.

Also I think the nightmare of there being monsters in the basement was his manifestation of his father when he tied him down there and made him shoot their dog, including the reason why he was worried about losing his mother in his dreams.

I'm glad they showed at least one flashback of his dad not being terrible. I like nuance in my characters. Also it's cool as hell that they added a flashback that related back to one of the most powerful line & scene in The Old Blood (to me) "I was a kid, we had a monster in our basement, my father said if I done wrong it'd creep out at night and come for me. I tried to do no wrong, but the monster came all the same."

Steven To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

I love they also show the dad genuinely trying to be a dad. He was terrible at it, but you can see the values he instilled in BJ. Never let anyone push you around, face your battles head on, stand up for yourself. The problem was, he taught BJ to do that primarily through violence. Meaning the only way he knows how to actually stand up to problems is through violence. He’s incredibly lucky that he also had a mother who taught him things like the value of kindness and love. Otherwise, he could have easily ended up like his father. A bitter, and terrible human being.

I agree, He had a good point in most of them, Telling Billy to go fight his own battle and TAKE BACK what belongs to him, that certainly wasn't a negative lesson, But the part where he slapped him across the face and kicked him out of the house was not needed. And onto the next one, While cruel and cold, he had a good point about the whole "It's kill or be killed, The old and the weak are doomed.", and he was right that you have to make very hard decisions in life and the weak will be weeded out, It's cruel, but in a world like Wolfenstein, it is correct, Especially considering how his son eventually seems to agree with him, As a matter of fact, When he thinks he is going to die, His chosen last (Internal) words are "The old...and the weak... are doomed.". In short, His father was right, in a way, he just fucked up by trying to prove his point with beatings, hatred and violence.

+rice woman Bad analogy, Hacksaw Ridge was directed by ironically one of the very few good directors left in Hollywood. Why do you think it resonated with people so much? Also the depiction of the Japanese was fair, if you remember. Remember the cliff scene?

The monsters in the basement part, he mentions it when he gets off the robot in Old Blood, his daddy told him if he does no wrong there wont be any monsters in the basement. Old Blood and New Colossus are able to take elements and scripts and combine them and twist them around to make it much more dramatic.

18:10 in this scene it's like a metaphor. When he says the monsters are coming for mama he could mean his dad. Then he says that there are no more monsters which is kinda like him saying the monster in his dad went away temporarily, since this was the only good scene. His dad says that when you do no wrong then the monsters go away. That's why it went away from his father

Is it weird that despite this being set up as an epic character arch for BJ, the character I'm more interested in is his Mother? I just find it fascinating how can someone ever fall into a marriage like this, and I really like that bit at 5:30; she KNOWS that he will hit her and probably kill her, but all that matters is protecting her son, like a true Mother
