If we add up the usage percentage numbers for all dark types, we get ~107%, but for ground we get ~39% assuming I did my math right (I don’t care enough to go through multiple times and make sure I was right). There are several top tier dark types, and only a couple grounds. On top of that, more big threats are weak to electric than psychic as showcased in this video. Plus, Rising Voltage has a higher BP under terrain and Pincurchin is more likely to be run with offensive investment and item rather than Indeedee’s more common defensive role. It just simply has much better coverage and notably higher damage.

Pincurchin was literally the backbone of my ubers singles team; I’d lead with him and use u-turn to switch into my max speed Regieleki (to maintain speed control even under speed buffs, spider web, or tailwind conditions) and just spam rising voltage with Eleki Absolutely obliterated everything that wasn’t a ground or electric type
